Internal campaign e-mails exchanged three weeks before Election Day offer a rare look at just how frustrated then Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin had become with the manner in which top McCain campaign aides were handling her candidacy. The e-mails, obtained exclusively, also highlight the power struggle and thinly veiled acrimony that pervaded the relationship between Palin and the campaign's chief strategist, Steve Schmidt.
The episode in question began when an investigative report published on the left-leaning Web site Salon.com raised questions about Palin's relationship with members of the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) when she was mayor of Wasilla. The AIP's platform calls for a vote giving Alaskans the option to secede from the United States. It had already been widely known that Todd Palin was a registered member of the AIP from 1995 to 2002 and that Governor Palin had taped a recorded greeting at the party's 2008 convention.
On the morning of Oct. 15, Palin was aboard her campaign jet and en route to New Hampshire when she happened to catch a disparaging CNN segment that touted the Salon.com story, complete with a provocative graphic at the bottom of the screen reading, "THE PALINS AND THE FRINGE."

So, I'm really confused now. Are you saying that Obama doesn't expect his opinions accepted without explanation or question?
BTW, a couple of other things you and lord Obama both have in common:
* You are both US citizens, and
* You are both over 5" tall (most likely).
Just out of idle curiosity, will you get angry about these items as well, or was there something specific about that first common quality?
The POINT of places like FR are the discussions; the exchanges of ideas. When you want to discuss it go right ahead. OTOH, if you want to post things like "IMO you are wrong because you are!" you should just give it up and go away.

I have stated my thoughts on the story. I asked for a discussion. You do not seem to understand that "you are wrong IMO" is not a discussion, it's laziness. It seemed as if you were doing nothing more than joining others in "voting" that my concerns were errant because you and others agree that they are. I have news for you - if truth is up for a vote but not a discussion we can have no complaints about the POTUS.
FYI - "I disagree because this is just one small snippet from the campaign...", or "you may want to read this story at [www.whatever.com] for a different point of view", are a couple of possible alternatives. You may want to try them sometime.
For the sake of clarification, I meant "go away from this ridiculous non discussion". But since you seem don't seem to be able to discuss anything or go away, I will go away.
