Lets say you have a $multi-BILLION dollar profit making product, lets call it CFC.

The patent is about to expire, and soon EVERYONE will be making it.

So what do you do?

You spend about 10 years a some $millions (tax-deductable donations to ‘green’ organizations!) telling the public your product is ‘harming the ozone’

You get it outlawed, and the substitute is a new product that (Surprise!) only you hold the patent on called, HFC.

HFC is more caustic and harder to use and does not work as well, but that does not matter. The OZONE is being saved. People will die because adequate refrigeration is not avaialbe for getting drugs to impoverished countries- but what does that matter.

Soon the patent will expire on HFC’s...
