Wednesday, July 1, 2009 Huffington Post Endorses Mitt Romney By Videmus Omnia
It appears the left is now trying to evolve from quoting anonymous Washington elitists, and is instead now quoting anonymous members of the "grassroots".
In a piece titled "Grassroots Republicans Like Mitt Over Palin", HuffPo writer Jennifer Donahue lauds Mitt Romney:
"In discussions with Republican men and women, something has replaced the head shaking of a few weeks ago. The have a reply now. And it has nothing to do with Sarah Palin saying if she runs she can beat Obama. It has nothing to do with her at all."
The word is this: Mitt. Tried and true in 2008, getting comfy like the baseball "mitt."
He's running a quiet campaign, the underground kind the national press is not supposed to notice, but reminding voters he is in the hunt."
This follows on the heels of Jonathan Martin's Mitt Romney puff piece that appeared in Politico the day before yesterday:
"Mitt Romney says publicly hes not considering another presidential campaign, most recently on Sunday during an appearance on NBCs Meet the Press. But many of his loyalists expect one and remain at the ready for 2012."
Romney is also apparently making a media blitz, appearing on weekend talkers a few days ago, giving other interviews, and making numerous appearances on Fox News.
To use an old quote, I question the timing. The wave of positive Romney coverage is suspiciously coincidental with a wave of attacks on Governor Palin by anonymous McCain aides and "GOP strategists".
There seem to be two groups of RINOs that are attacking Palin, with some overlap between the two: feckless and incompetent McCain staffers desperate to shift the blame from their failures in the 2008 campaign, and Romney supporters desperate to spoil any ambitions Palin may have for a 2012 run.
It's well-known that many of the 2008 Romney staff merged with the McCain campaign late in the game, and as a result were assigned to Governor Palin, who was also a late arrival and had no staff of her own. They are prime suspects for this type of behavior. And, anonymous sources aside, many of the named "GOP insiders" notorious for Palin-bashing trace back to Romney - people like Mike Murphy and Rob Gray.
I find the title of the HuffPo piece "Grassroots Republicans Like Mitt" hilarious. The only grassroots that the elites know about are found in the divots kicked up by their polo ponies.

Of course they endorse Romney. Tee up the next RINO to run against Obama. Just like McWhatshisname. Liberal America selected McCain for us because we were incapable of selecting our own candidate...

Shouldn’t Huffpuke be checking their uplink to Obama’s sphincter instead of trying to play this game?

Why does the European Huffington get to make such waves? Why does European George Soros get to have so much influence in NEA educated America?

Is this some kind of a joke? Liberal democrats for Mitt?!
Everything behind the pummel Palin media is screaming Mitt Romney and now this!
He’d better stop this whole mess immediately. It just makes him look terrible. He won’t even be able to run for dog catcher in Utah if this keeps up.

What we should do to screw with all of them is run Cheney. Could you imagine seeing an intelligent man wipe that smug look off that Obama’s sneering face at every debate? I don’t care who they run as long as they wipe the floor with Obama with facts and razor wit that makes him bawl like a baby.

The Artificial and manufactured Anglo called Romney will not win in the high population states because they have huge minority populations (black, Hispanic and Asian) who will NOT vote for a white milquetoast, blowdried establishment guy like Romney. They hate his guts because of how he looks and will once again vote for Obama. Huffington knows this so that’s why she wants Romney to be the candidate.

Well, that’s it for Romney. We can’t let liberal Democrats pick our candidates.
I believe we should form a third party. Then we won’t be ignored by Democrats or Republicans.

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House,
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin.
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
He's in charge on November 5th.'"
The Prowler added: "Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Romney supporters in the McCain campaign had access to internal polling which indicated well in advance of the November 4 election that McCain had no chance to win.
So they began working to position their man Mitt for a run in 2012. Just two days after the election,The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Heres what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they dont do it to her, shell do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."
"Likewise, I do think there are some staffers and others who expect Mitt Romney to run again in 2012,
they decided McCain could not win, and decided to undermine Sarah Palin and her chances hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign? (Mark Wallace, Romney pimp)
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the Diva leak was Nicolle Wallaces husband."
"Schmidt was importuned by several of the Republican aspirants for president earlier this year.
Mitt Romney sent him an antique chair to symbolize a seat at the table."
"Romney would not say whether hed been vetted,
but did insist that the vice presidency was a subject he had never even so much discussed with McCain,
with whom he often tangled bitterly in the primary campaign.
So I tried another tack, recalling that I had been in a car with McCain and his then aide John Weaver,
reporting a piece for V.F. in the fall of 2006,
just after McCain delivered an address at Boston Colleges opening convocation.
Weavers phone rang, and it was someone at B.C.,
informing him that Romneys office had just called to ask when he would be invited to speak."
"Texan helped McCain secure Romney endorsement
AUSTIN The decision by Mitt Romney to endorse John McCain didn't just happen, of course. It took a Texan who knows something about uniting fierce political rivals.
John Weaver, Mr. McCain's former political guru, was the intermediary who initiated talks between the two sides that led to Mr. Romney's announcement of support.
...Here's how the two came to make a joint appearance Thursday in Boston: Last week, Mr. Weaver got a call from McCain aides Charlie Black and Steve Schmidt, who asked if he would help broker an endorsement.
Mr. Weaver, who had left the McCain campaign in last year's shakeup, is a longtime friend of Beth Myers, Mr. Romney's campaign manager.."
Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
Poor sport spoiler Romney doing what he does best:
Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"
Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson."
"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Look at how Reagan appeared in 1976. They said much the same about him. He never lived the “goof” image down; but... he didn't care because he knew what had to be done and he just did it. Palin has these qualities and THAT'S why the left is so terrified of her. They had their heads handed to them last time and it set the goals of Internationalism back 30 years.
