I figure a couple of old farts like us arguing about Regan and now Goldwater probably look pretty ridiculous to the 18 - 40 years olds who now run this country. Good luck convincing them.

Bush the elder won on Reagan's coattails. When he ran on his own record in 1992, he got trounced. Bush the younger was more conservative than Bush but not as conservative as Reagan. And he had two very close elections.
So the lesson is, RINO-breath, is for the GOP to run a center-right conservative, not a RINO.
