My major doubt about the whole thing is that General Sherman used 1850 Census information to target the civilian population for support of his "scorched earth" march through Georgia.
So I guess geography didn’t make much of a play in that campaign???
He had to find out (from the 1850 Census) that there were rebels (secessionists) in Georgia???
There was always something that buged the heck outta me about that Sherman guy...;-)
