You’re very welcome South Dixie!
Canada Day message from Prime Minister Harper
On this day, one hundred and forty-two years ago, Confederation was born. Today, we celebrate the most peaceful, prosperous, and enduring democracy the world has ever known. We reflect on the wisdom of our ancestors who built this great land and we give thanks to those brave Canadians who risk their lives to defend us, here and around the world. Together we have faced a challenging year but we Canadians are strong and resilient people. Looking around the world, Canada has fared better than most. And looking to the future, Canada is poised to lead. We must never forget that our country, our way of life, did not happen by accident. We are a product of diverse peoples committed to common values. A country that cherishes freedom, democracy, and justice. A country proud of our past and confident in our future. So on behalf of my family, and the entire government, I want to wish Canada a very happy birthday. May God continue to keep our land glorious and free.
