Do you believe that a public option actually will cost less???

Of course, the public option will cost "less". That is, the premium will be less than the premium for comparable private insurance.

But that reckons without the subsidy that higher taxes will fund.

I worked in the British NHS in the 80’s. My degrees didn't transfer so I was making an abysmal wage (wages over there are much lower than here to begin with, too). My tax bite was 50% and I know I was in the bottom 25% of wage earners. People here have NO IDEA how much ‘free’ health care is going to cost!
