The Sitting Duck Award is given annually to the person "to whom columnists have turned in the last 12 months, when he or she is desperate for a topic and has to meet a deadline.

This very award, which openly admits that columists write garbage out of desperation just to fill space, shows how lame and devoid of susbstance the media really is. Buying a newspaper is like paying to see a sports event where the umpires are deliberately slanting calls for a favored team. Who would pay to see such a game?
