Limbaugh: Obama planning third term @ 4:21 pm by Eric Zimmermann

Rush Limbaugh stirred up some trouble today when he suggested Obama might have his sights on a third term:

You have to wonder if Obama is just trying to lay a foundation for not being a hypocrite when he tries to serve beyond 2016. I wouldn't be at all surprised if in the next number of years there is a move on the 22nd Amendment, which term limits the President of the United States. He may not do it that way, he may not openly try to change the Constitution. But there might be this movement in the country from his cult-like followers to support the notion that a democratically-elected leader who is loved and adored has carte blanc once elected. Just serve as long as he wants because the people demand it, because the people want it, because the people love it.

And I wouldn't put it past Obama to be plotting right now how to serve beyond 2016 and I think the way he's reacting to what's happening in Honduras - Look, they've got a constitution, they're a democratically-elected set of officials down there and you had a guy running the country, Mel Zelaya, who was just going to basically rip that country's democracy to shreds and the country moved in to stop in him from doing it and Obama sides with the guy who wanted to rip up the constitution. He sides with other dictators in the region. Regardless, I mean, one thing is clear here: Obama is nothing if not a hardcore liberal. Always, always more sympathetic, appearing to side with the bad guys on the world stage.

And I'll tell you folks, this business about running beyond 2016, you know, the thing that when you look at Obama's followers - and we've discussed it here - they are a cult-like bunch and their attachment to him is not political, it's not ideological, it is not issue-wise, it is cultish. It includes a wide percentage of minorities, by the way, who for different reasons, who will come to think that he simply cannot be replaced. Let him succeed with amnesty, for example, and all the illegal aliens who are instantly made citizens. He'll be too important. Just like right now he's too big to fail as far as the drive-bys are concerned, he's too important to be replaced. No one else can lead the nation, they will say. And they won't care a whit about the legalities that might be trampled. Half of the legalities if they don't even know about them because they haven't been properly educated. I think this situation in Honduras is very instructive. Anybody who thinks that he intends to just constitutionally go away in 2016 is nuts … These are people who seek power for reasons other than to serve. They seek to rule.

Coincidentally, Robert Gibbs was asked about this very matter during his Monday press briefing:

Q Does the President support New York Democrat Congressman Jose Serrano's House joint resolution number five? (Laughter.)

MR. GIBBS: You're going to find I tend to get it mixed up with House joint resolution four and six. So I'd have to, at the conclusion of our time together here today, Lester –

Q That's the repeal of the — wait a minute. It's the repeal of the 22nd Amendment. Does he support this — because Steny Hoyer in 2006 came out in favor of it — does he support the repeal of the 22nd Amendment or not, Robert?

MR. GIBBS: This is to serve more — this is for two terms? Is that the –

Q That's right.

MR. GIBBS: I think the President is firmly in support of an amendment that would limit his time in the presidency to eight years if he's given that awesome responsibility by the American people.

Rush also brought up the birth certificate issue on three different off-hand remarks. Something big is about to come out which will make the whole country turn on the DNC and BHO crowd.

Hmmm. What about the "super secret project that he hopes we will someday hear about?" Sounds like something is brewing....

If they are male and operating with a female frame of mind, I can tell you from experience of having to deal with a lot of them in the criminal element, aint nothin in the world meaner. Mean woman frame of mind with a male body big enough to back it up. He should weigh that chit carefully, cause if they turn on him, he is sausage.

Ignore that poster. He has a pathological hatred of Rush. I believe he asked Rush out once and got turned down.

“Rush also brought up the birth certificate issue on three different off-hand remarks. Something big is about to come out which will make the whole country turn on the DNC and BHO crowd.”

Perhaps this is the “crisis” Obama would face that Joe Biden alluded to:

“And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you - not financially to help him - we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

If it is found he is indeed not eligible to serve as POTUS, thus creating a Constitutional crisis, it would unleash the opportunity for an international event to take advantage of our weakness - China invades Taiwan, North Korea invading South Korea, Isreal/middle east war, etc.

If he is not eligible, Pelosi, Reid, etc. signed off that the Obamunist met the Constitutional requirments to be POTUS.

This would not only be big, it would be TREASON.

No offense, but how can you be a conservative right now and not be at least a little cynical? I’m cynical about everything this government does.

You are negative about this government, but you can cite sound reasons for your negativity. Your negativity is not superficial, and therefore not cynical.

Whereas the poster to whom I was responding will give you a facile "reason" for his negativity about Rush (and some other conservative people). His "reasons" are rationalizations; his negativity is superficial. And cynical. IMHO.

Not polite to talk behind his back, so . . .

It says would limit his time. No amendment is needed to limit his time. he has two terms tops.

someone messed up reporting this. It should read not limit his time I bet.

Rush needs to take a break. Revoking the 22nd Amendment would need a two-thirds vote in both Houses and the ratification of three-fourths of the states. Not a chance of that happening.

I disagree with everything going on now, obama has no allegiacne to the people or the rule of law and no one is stopping him. If the 2/3 were a problem Obama would just have the new york times do a fake poll and we would wake up with obama looking for a third term.

New York is allowing bloomie a third term

this is not far fetched and with the corruption right now, it is a possibility. it is exactly why obama spoke out on Honduras. he is saying if this happens I get a third term through my Chicago way thugocracy, I am saying the military better back off.

Obama has no authority to do anything he has done so far or anything he has planned to do to us but he is doing it. With the corrupt behind you who is going to stop him?

By that time obama will have his own army who only reports to him. They will live well with your tax dollars. They wil not do anything against him because they know what happened to the serfs who did rebuke obama. Iraq in America.

You know, you may be right about that.

I do believe we are that close to the end.

The term-limiting amendment was ratified in 1951 after President Franklin Delano Roosevelt won election to a fourth term and passed away early in that fourth term, the first president to ever exceed two terms.

I've said for a while that emperor bammy won't settle for being president, unless it's “president for life” like you see in other third world african nations.

It's going to take a lot more than term limits to push the afro-messiah out of the White House when his clock strikes midnight and aunt esther turns back into a pumpkin.
