Their candidate wasn't a "natural born" citizen either.
Although McCain was born of two American citizen parents, he was born in Colon, Panama, and did not meet the requirement of being born in the mainland US.

The Canal was US territory at that time, and like children born to American servicemen in Germany, McCain was a citizen. Natural born.
Can’t believe that fact about McCain still carries weight.
