It would have passed this year, except for heavy handed propaganda put forth by Janet Napolitano and the MSM. It came within something like a few hundred votes of passing. You could not turn on the radio without hearing Janet on an ad pronouncing doom if it passed.

Zero, on hearing this news, had to go out for a smoke. Scratching his chin, thinking, “this could be problematic...on the other hand, if my system fails, we can blame the states that withdrew...”

It’s going to be interesting to see Obama enforce federal laws on the states. He does not has a civilian force (yet) strong enough to go into multiple states and enforce his unconstitutional “programs” (read: plan for the destruction of the US).

I can’t remember the President, but I remember the saying after a supreme court ruling (Jackson?) said “Let them enforce it”.

Just like local bar owners around me have allowed people to smoke in their bars in the face of a ban. Not a single ticker or summons has been written. The power of the people is still with the people. The police are people. The state police are people. The military are people (usually very conservative people). As these fights come to a head, it will be interesting to see Obama try to enforce the laws.

Just like the City of San Francisco can tell Illegals not to worry, we’re not enforcing immigration laws, conservative cities can tell their citizens not to worry, we’re not enforcing the unconstitutional federal laws - unless they deal with war, the navy, or an argument with another state. Other than that they need to mind their business. Kiss my arse.

Moving to Texas sounding better and better!

Arizona has apparently decided to be one of the leaders in the charge against Potomac Fever!(No healthcare pun intended)

Another article(Thanks SunkenCiv and Army Air Corps) where Arizona displays their Constitutional muscle:

Arizona Looks to Outlaw Global Warming Legislation. I REALLY like this one!

I’m proud to be an Arizonan. I’m also proud to say Obama and his ACORNs suck.

>>the House cap and tax bill, which, in Section 189(a)(2) made it clear that any State law could be ignored.<<

If this is allowed to stand, then state legislatures and Governors might as well step down as they would be obsolete. Not to mention that this tramples all over what’s left of our Constitution.

Where are the lawyers? Oops, forgot that it is more important to overturn the results of an election that did not give you the results you wanted!

How much more will it take before we say ENOUGH!

Thanks For God's Sake for the ping!

I think the states also need to move fast to protect businesses, since according to the Obamacare draft they will now be on the hook for almost 75% of employee healthcare costs, or face being heavily taxed.

I hope so. It’d be nice to know that there are places to move when we can finally get out of NY.

" ....Supreme Court showdown with any federal legislation, which is certain to include language similar to what ended up in the House cap and tax bill, which, in Section 189(a)(2) made it clear that any State law could be ignored."

It becomes easier and easier to sympathize with the Iranian who have lived in terror of a group of evil black-robed clerics who have administered sharia law for many decades.

Not much different than those men-in-black who successfully shredded the former Constitution and are now relegating it to the "dust-bin of history".

I don’t BELIEVE that the US revolution really began in Massachusetts! They are just WAY too liberal to have EVER stood up to King George III! I think that any Mass. part of the revolution is a urban MYTH.
