AUDIO: Rush Limbaugh Warns Of Third Obama Term (MUST LISTEN!)
Real Clear Politics ^ | June 30, 2009 | Real Clear Politics

Posted on 06/30/2009 10:59:11 AM PDT by ianschwartz

You have to wonder if Obama is just trying to lay a foundation for not being a hypocrite when he tries to serve beyond 2016. I wouldn't be at all surprised if in the next number of years there is a move on the 22nd Amendment, which term limits the President of the United States. He may not do it that way, he may not openly try to change the Constitution. But there might be this movement in the country from his cult-like followers to support the notion that a democratically-elected leader who is loved and adored has carte blanc once elected. Just serve as long as he wants because the people demand it, because the people want it, because the people love it.

The states would never ratify that. If he is going to have more than 2 terms, he is going to have to make an end run around the constitution to do it and there would be blood in the streets if that happened, guaranteed.

With all due respect to Rush, I think that by 2012 Obama will be so unpopular that a third term (or even a second) will not be feasible. We are only five months into Obama’s first term and he is still enjoying a honeymoon but it becoming clear that the honeymoon is beginning to wane.

It will never happen...people thought Clinton would do this and Bush would do this. Presidents are whipped out after two terms. It is a very draining job. Why not enjoy your 400,000 dollar a year pension sitting on the beach or something. You guys who believe this are NUTS!!!!

I’m thinking passing another amendment - not repealing an existing one.

Constitutional amendments can only be repealed by passing new amendments (or by holding a constitutional convention). See the 18th and 21st Amendments for an example.

Why settle for $400,000/year when you could basically rule the world? At his social strata, it’s not the money, it’s the power. $400K/yr is a pittance to his kind.

"2/3'rds of the state legislators would have to pass resolutions calling for a constitutional convention"

IIRC, we are only two states' votes away from the required 2/3's. There have been a couple of state legislatures who have tried to rescind their vote, but the Constitution doesn't address rescission, so the current total stands.

All that is needed is for two more states to vote aye, and Nancy Pelosi gets to preside over rewriting the Constitution.

If you're wondering how we got in this situation, the anti-abortion movement was behind the votes. They wanted to rewrite the Constitution to abolish abortion.

Unintended Consequences of the Religious Right.

Michelle wears $500 sneakers.
A night on the town for them costs $25,000.
$400K/yr is their personal spending deficit.

Think big man.

Rush would suggest this third term possibility for a rascally reason, he knows his remark will be discussed by both sides, and we know his intent is to see conservatives prevail in a long struggle. Could he be intent on using the ambitions of other Dem party stars here, in making them worry or at least pause and think about how they might never be more than a courtier in the king’s court, with nodding and bowing as their part, forever in the background?
Rush may be planting a burr under some saddles here, as we might say in Oklahoma, where we didn’t vote for a king, by the way.

Ever hear of the Equal Rights Amendment? It went nowhere...and this will go nowhere too, even if it is tried, as the most socialistic assclown liberal politician isn't gonna risk political capital on a president whose negatives and positives now cross in the middle (according to the latest polls). The American sheeple are gullible (we elected 0zero) but I still have faith that they aren't completely so stupid they would stand for a Chavez/Castro/Mugabe/Song Il—type that results when one crosses a potato with a penis (dictator) for life amendment.

Obama's administration is starting out just like the epic monstrosity "Heaven's Gate." He's the epitome of Michael Cimino, the destroyed director who made the movie--now called the worst in American film history. It was over budget, over long and bankrupted United Artists. During the middle of the movie Cimino was smiling and asked his cohorts why everyone was leaving: "Were they getting champagne?" he inquired, thinking it was success. "No," he was told, "they're leaving because the movie stinks!"

Maybe Obama will call for a national referendum to amend the Constitution. The Supreme Court (with Obama’s appointees) will discover that the referendum conforms to their vision of a “living Constitution.” ACORN stuffs the ballot boxes. Obama becomes president for life as the voters demand.

The difference in what they said about Bush and what is going on now is immense. The news media had a 24/7 alarm about what Bush was doing, which (besides the war) wasn't much. The fringe like Cynthia McKinney et al accused him of planning 9/11; on and on, he was trashed for his Air National Guard svc.; the Patriot Act was a culprit.

Nowhere, no how in Bush's 8 years did we see the kinds of things that have happened since election Nov. 2008.

ACORN into absolutely everything, sending rent-a-mobs to intimidate, getting millions of tax funds to grow and get better at intimidation--like the New Black Panther intimidation at voter places in Nov. whose prosecution has been suspended by "O".; and the ultimate--in charge of the census out of the white house.

The continued destruction of the economy and take over of the public sector by govt.

The push to take over health by govt--it is almost there, now, but will get much worse--taxing us for our ins. while "O",Congress, and unions are exempt.

The push in the name of climate change, i.e. global warming will destroy our coal and gas industries. The "create new jobs"aspect creates govt. subsidized jobs while destroying high paying jobs in the coal, gas, and utility areas. It will be a huge net loss. Also in the depths of this bill are restrictions that have bankrupted CA (bill written by Waxman and Markey of CA), like Enviro inspection of all real estate before selling.

All these concrete things have happened in a space of about 6 months(with exception of health and cap and trade not actually being a done deal yet).

I did not even mention the report from Homeland Security targeting vets and other conservatives as possible terrorists.People are already being intimidated. I didn't mention the firing of the Americorps overseer for investigating a friend of "O". Then there is the rush to stack the SC by placing empathetic judges to make law by feel good racial judgement. THE VERY HUGE MAIN INTENT AND REAL POSITIONING FOR POWER IS THIS--Cap and Trade will put "O" in a position of agreeing with the UN. He and his minions fully intend to sign on to global initiatives approved by the UN and Treaties and other International agreements will trash our Constitution by taking precedence. We have been free so long, people cannot imagine this--Well think on it because plans for this are in our future.

No, it is not farfetched to imagine "O"'s push to remain in power.

It takes a constitutional amendment, and passing one of those is no slam dunk. It has to pass, I believe, two-thirds of the House and the Senate, and then it has to pass a high percentage of the state legislatures.

Ever hear of the 22nd Amendment? It wasn’t part of the Constitution, but then it passed the assorted hurdles needed to get there.

How many people are going to tell me exactly the same thing in this thread?!?
Yes, folks, it’s not an easy road to get the repeal passed, but what it’s repealing WAS passed as an amendment by the SAME process. While not a slam-dunk, the numbers are increasingly favorable to its passage. Just because it’s not a slam-dunk doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Snippet from press media in Canada!

I would like to see the U.S. Armed Forces engaged in a similar action here!!

"Behold the man. Behold the coward.

By contrast when Honduras’ legislature and supreme court acted to remove President Manuel Zelaya, a close ally of Chavez, who had fired the head of the army and attempted to stage a coup by violating the Constitution, Obama and his people have been working around the clock to restore Zelaya to power, even while stating that they want the whole thing to be “free from external influence and interference” (the hypocrisy on that line alone is almost enough to choke even Chavez himself). The question is why?

But of course it’s not that difficult of a question. Not when you think like a coward. Not when you think like Obama.

Why wouldn’t Obama panic at the sight of a Congress and Supreme Court removing a left wing Socialist President who violated the Constitution in pushing to make himself el-presidente for life, by violating term limits. Let alone the military dumping said President across border.

Obama no doubt has nightmares of waking up on a C-31 transport to Kenya, after enough of his wrongdoing leads him to being booted out of the White House by what remains of the American legislative and judicial infrastructure.

Today Manuel “ALBA” Zelaya. Tomorrow it could be Barry “Hussein” Obama. And Barry knows better than anyone else the full catalog of lies, crimes and scandals brewing beneath his regime. Obama’s rise to power has been part of an American hemisphere trend that covers the likes of Chavez, Zelaya, Correa, Silva and even the return of Kerry’s old buddy, Ortega, to power in Nicaragua. What all of them have in common with Obama is a left wing socialist agenda that ignores the rule of law. An attack against Zelaya, could in Obama’s mind be seen an attack against him equally.

If the rollback of socialist tyranny begins in Honduras, it might spread. If Brazil, Venezeula and Ecuador follow-- might not the democractic revolution spread to America as well, and make the Prince of Chicago’s throne shakier than ever?

That is how a coward thinks, and Obama is nothing if not a coward. And like all cowards, he knows how little he deserves what he has, and how easy it would be for him to lose it all. A gang of greedy and deluded followers, and a nationwide 24/7 propaganda blitz can only do so much. After all there isn’t a socialist tyrant in the hemisphere who hasn’t had the same thing. And yet the latest of them is enjoying a well deserved vacation in Venezuela. A profile in cowardice. A liar and a manipulator who serves his own ends first and his host country’s, last.

Heavy hangs the head that wears the ill-gotten crown. From one corner of the globe to another, Obama flits back and forth, delivering speeches and posing for photos. Like a rat rubbing against a rosebush, hoping some of the loose petals will attach themselves to him so that he can appear more like a rosebush and less like a rat, Obama hopes that going through the motions of being a world leader will actually get people to confuse him with a world leader.

Yet his mumbling silence on Iran speaks far more eloquently about the sort of man Obama is, than all his scripted speeches ever could. Obama has been compared to JFK, but what he represents is no profile in courage, but a profile in cowardice. A liar and a manipulator who serves his own ends first and his host country’s, last. Who proclaims, Ask not what I can do for your country, Ask what your country can do for me. And above all else, a craven coward."...............

How come we always get such from foreign countries' media and not from the Slimes, Compost or LA Slimes???

Those medias are more involved in who got the death-story of M.J. first than real issues as mentioned above. I like the "C-31." The U.S. journalism died long ago!!!

Passing constitutional amendments back then was a different ball game back in the early 50s. It was a different political world. I’ll never say never, but it’s a harder road to travel than just passing a bill in the current Congress.

Ain't happening. Shall we stick with the more pressing, real issues, such as cap-and-trade and health care deform?

I can stick with more than one issue. Hell, I can juggle 10 simultaneously.

Going to a team party this weekend and it ain't regarding the 3rd term.

Emailed 6 of the 8 rinos that voted for cap-n-trade.

Voiced opinion to RNC that they had better pull their heads out of their butts or we'll all be in trouble.

What did you do?
