Indo-US relationship has developed 'exponentially' [during Bush term]: Indian envoy to US

WASHINGTON: Noting that the Indo-US relationship has developed "exponentially" in the last few years, Indian ambassador to the US has said the ties with America is important to meet the development aspirations of India, as well as enhancing global peace and security.

"The India-US relationship, in the last few years, has developed exponentially. It is a very important relationship for India certainly, which we feel is essential for meeting our development aspirations, as well as for enhancing global peace and security, and meeting some of the common global challenges that we face," ambassador Meera Shankar said.

The Indian ambassador made these remarks during a conversation on "Natural Allies -- US-India Relations in the Obama Era", organised by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a Washington-based think tank.

"It's our effort to try to take this relationship to the next level, building on the gains which were made and on the strong bipartisan support within the United States for building this relationship, as well as broad political support in the Indian polity for building this relationship," Shankar said.

The Indian ambassador said Indo-US relationship now stands on its own merits and, from India's point of view, has to be viewed as such. There is an economic element which has been growing substantially. Trade has doubled in the last four years, she observed.

Isn’t the lead ACLU lawyer on breaking open all our secrets and photo’s from the Middle East the daughter of the Indian Prime Minister?

Why do we think Patel has anything for us?

Yea, and Dick Cheney’s daughter is a lesbian.

What’s your point, exactly?

That the Indian Prime Minister would like to see us embarrassed and in more danger, otherwise his own daughter wouldn’t be participating in that.

HAHAHA! Wonderful deduction.

Has it occured to you that Manmohan’s daughter is a grown woman, in her late 40s, and doesn’t exactly live with him?

What inferences do you make of Cheney and his lesbian daughter?

I don’t see how this obsession over where Cheney’s daughter chooses to put her sexual organs is relevant to anything. I don’t see her taking on any foreign governments, with the goal of harming them, either.

Brilliant, yes.

And Dick Cheney wants us all to become gay. Sherlock Holmes strikes, with his amazing deductive powers.

This guy has made a biiiig mistake, praising GW. Now The Messiah will have to destroy him and harm his country over and over. India will probably be turned over to Burma to run as a bedroom community.

She is completely undermining her father’s conservative positions. You don’t see that, but you do, regarding the Indian PM’s adult daughter?

Yes, but the Indian Prime Minister’s daughter emigrated to the US, and became an American citizen. What she does in her adopted country is hardly the INDIAN prime ministers concern.

Contrary to what you may believe, India is a pretty socially liberated country, and people’s daughters may do what they please. So the Indian Prime Minster cannot tell an adult, grown up, daughter of his, who lives in and is a citizen of, the USA, how to spend her time.

To suggest that he is somehow planning the destruction of the US via the use of ONE ACLU lawyer, is fairly laughable, and anyway irrelevant to this post, which is about president Bush improving Indian-US ties.

By the way, lol on your tagline. I like GW, but BHO is definitely as described therein.

Yes, we force feed India what used to be American jobs and industries and they give us junk products and unintelligible service. But hey—it’s cheap, and we need that now that our jobs have all moved to India....
