Ruling May Not Derail Nominee (Racist Liberals get free passes)

The Supreme Court's rejection of a decision against white firefighters endorsed by Judge Sonia Sotomayor gives Republicans a renewed chance to attack her speeches and writings but is not expected to imperil her confirmation to the high court, political and legal sources said yesterday.

The decision that the New Haven, Conn., firefighters were unfairly denied promotions because of their race comes two weeks before Sotomayor's Senate confirmation hearings and is an unwelcome distraction for the White House from what had seemed like a relatively smooth confirmation process. It is also somewhat of an embarrassment, forcing administration officials to explain why the court overturned a controversial decision backed by its prospective next member.

Perhaps this is the best we can hope for. I've heard it suggested that if you are going to have a liberal replace a liberal, it's best to have a stupid liberal. And it's obvious that this woman is not that bright. She will become the Maxine Waters of the Supreme Court(aka a laughing stock). She will not influence others. She doesn't have the intellect.

The buffoons in the Senate will confirm her. We will have another idiot in a black robe ruling us. God help us. Elections have consequences.

“this woman is not that bright”...

Yeah, but she’s got empathy... And, a reactionary racist philosophy and an activist agenda.

And, YES! Elections have consequences.

Sotomayor is a shining example of the exact principle the Supreme Court ruled against. She is unqualified and nominated to the position to fulfill someones racial quota. The entire notion that we have to have one each of the “village people” to constitute the court is repugnant.

Derail?

That implies that the nomination had anything to do with merit in the first place.

Since it doesn't, and those sharing her distorted values hold a virtual monopoly on "the powers that be", there's not much that could keep the affirmative action poster girl from being the most obvious joke to sit on the court to date.

Unfortunately, she's almost certain not to hold that title for long.

And, YES! Elections have consequences.?

Sotomayor is just the type of candidate I would expect Juan "I love illegal Hispanics" McCain to have nominated. With his "reaching across the aisle", she might be even a bit more conservative than I would have expected from a McCain nomination.
