Fort Worth Police Search For Missing Elderly Man

Police in Fort Worth are asking for the public’s help in finding a 72-year-old man who has been missing since late Sunday night.

Homer Johns was last seen near the garage at his home, in the 4700 block of Ardenwood Drive.

Johns, who stand 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds, was wearing a dark gray shirt with the Dell computer logo, tan pants and flip-flop shoes. He has short brown/graying hair and hazel eyes.

While family members say Johns does not suffer from Alzheimer’s or any impeding medical condition, he is on medication for high blood pressure.

A command post has been set up at Dallas Park Elementary School, where volunteers and search crews are racing against the clock to find Johns since early Monday morning.

Both Johns’ vehicle and cell phone were found at his home. Family members say Johns disappearance is out of character and very unusual for the military veteran. “It’s been exhausting. What started out as a normal Sunday afternoon, time with the grandkids, to a 15-minute gap, my mother going inside to brush her teeth and he was shutting the garage door down,” said Tom Johns, the missing man’s son. “And then, to be missing.”

Anyone with information about Homer Johns is asked to contact the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-335-4222.
