Mitt Romney's team awaits 2012

Mitt Romney says publicly he’s not considering another presidential campaign, most recently on Sunday during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” But many of his loyalists expect one and remain at the ready for 2012.

When dozens of former Romney aides and advisers convened on the terrace of Charlie Spies’ fashionable Penn Quarter loft earlier this year on a warm February night, the purpose was ostensibly to help raise money for the Virginia state House race of Romney strategist Barbara Comstock.

But Spies, formerly the Romney campaign’s CFO, wasn’t just hosting a $100 per-head fundraiser. He was also staging a Romney political family reunion, as advertised by his e-mail invitation subject line, “The Romney gang back together,” and the special $50 cut-rate fee for former campaign staffers meant to draw some of the junior aides.

The buzz that night was unmistakable among the 80 or so former Romney operatives present.

“He was tanned, rested and ready,” said one former campaign aide of his old boss.

"Buzz"? What buzz? The only buzz surrounding Slick Willard's run last year was the buzz of flies. 0bama would eat his lunch.

I voted for him once but never again. He withdrew way too early last year then he took a shot at our gal Sarah not long ago. Go scratch yourself Mitt.

I prefered Mitt over McCain but after seeing how his people behaved after the election there’s no way in hell I’ll vote for him.

Romney would lose...he’s been on most sides of most issues...for abortion while Governor of Taxachusetts...against it when running for POTUS.

Besides, the media would never, ever, allow a Mormon in the White House.

Have you noticed that when the Republican beltway pundits talk about candidates for 2012, they purposefully leave out Sarah? An obvious dismissal. That will not discourage her supporters, however, and there will be a reckoning when they will have no choice but to once again speak her name.

Why would the DNC attack Gov. Palin and Sanford NOW?
FACT: Only Romney benefits from the **early** hits

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Poor sport spoiler Romney doing what he does best:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Shopuldn’t the primary process be fixed so that the rest of us can have our say. We need to avoid what happened in 08 which gave us McCain. Does anyone know what’s going on with this?

Mitt Romney does not scratch himself.

He has people for that.

And he'll have you know that they're patriots, bravely serving their country, just like his sons do when they rode around in the Mitt-Mobile, campaigning for their dad, staying in hotels, eating hot meals, etc.

Before any starstruck Mittsters jump in to say that wasn't what he meant, the woman who asked him the question that elicited his response says different, and she was there.

Romney: Sons Serve Country By Campaigning (^)

He thinks that his Winnebago-riding offspring are somehow equal to the proud men and women who have served our nation with honor? He needs to think again.
