Thank goodness the Founders saw the wisdom in establishing the Senate’s equal number of votes for each state. The coasts will not be able to outvote the rest of the country. Any Senator from the heartland who supports this disastrous bill should be pilloried and kicked out the next time he/she runs for re-election.
To: bilhosty
Great analysis, and look how it overlays the job loss in this map: (look at since July 08)
Job Loss/Gain 2007-2009 by county by month-
http://www.slate.com/id/2216238/
The Job Loss almost exactly overlays the areas who voted for Obozo and the areas who voted for Cap & Trade.
If Cap & Trade passes the Senate it will try to prop up these regions at the expense of the rest of the Nation including the Oil Producting States. It will destroy the nation to the benefit of Foreign interests. (those who helped elect Obozo)
I consider this “bill” absolute Treason. Based on the “Lie” of Global Warming.

Our resident village idiot, Democrat Representative Ike Skelton voted for the carbon tax. We get more than 80 percent of our electricity in Missouri from coal.

THE PLAN: Call AND send a fax to ALL of their offices beginning Monday ... Do not stop until Wednesday! We may not be their constituents but their vote has a profound effect on every citizen across the country! It is important to do this while their offices are open so they get the FULL effect of our message! They will need to add paper to the fax machine too so lets keep them busy! Their constituents will be protesting in person and visiting their offices. Lets do our part and show our support!!
PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! WE MUST ACT FAST!!
Sample Fax: Use your own words. Advocate for your State and America!
Dear Congressman ___________,
Your vote on Friday to support the Waxman-Markey bill will have a negative effect on EVERY citizen of EVERY State! In addition to a significant increase in our energy costs, the price of food, furniture, clothing, and other items we use every day will rise rapidly as well. I urge you to change your vote before the 5 day deadline has expired to do so! There is time for you to protect your constituents and benefit the rest of America at the same time.
No longer will citizens across America sit by while our voices and opinions are ignored!! If you fail to change your vote, I vow to send a donation in support of your next primary opponent in order to ensure you no longer have the opportunity to negatively effect any of us again!
Do the right thing for ALL Americans and vote AGAINST HR 2454.
Sincerely,
Your Name
State

Looks like a lot of the “blue dogs” lost their nads on this vote as well. Princess Pelosi as them in a vice and if that doesn’t work she’ll have them on her desk.

Here is link to Daily Paul, which states 4 days for motion to reconsider, but some confusion over Wednesday (July 1) may be because of 4th holiday schedule.

What has happened to our “representative republic”???
It has always been my opinion that our elected “representatives” were supposed to “represent” our thoughts and opinions in Congress...
How then, when polled, 70-80% of “the people” were against cap & trade was this vote so close, much less passed???

My Representative, Heath Shuler, voted for it and he’s one of the Blue Dogs. He’s crossed Nancy on a couple of votes and I guess he couldn’t afford to cross her on this one although he made an announcement after the vote saying he was all in for this bill.

Send these, also.
Two inconvenient reports:
1) A suppressed and censored report from our own EPA exposes many problems with the theories and "consensus" of the populist (and now debunked) theory of global warming, and the true (and minimal) affect of human activity on the climate. The suppressed EPA report is linked here:
http://cei.org/news-release/2009/06/25/cei-releases-global-warming-study-censored-epa
2) A report from the Chicago-based Heartland Institute summarized the Non-Governmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) that attempts to use scientific and rational arguments to identify exactly what is going on in the climate and the true impact of human activity. The recently released NIPCC report is found here:

typical thought process was probably to take all the pork that Pelosi and Co. were willing to dish out, expecting this ultimately to die a quiet death in the Senate (and the joke will sure be on them if it does not!)

This was a free vote for John McHugh, it will cost him nothing as he’s about to leave to go be a part of 0bama’s administration. Like this bill, he’s a POS.
