...Axelrod stressed that the Obama administration's willingness to hold diplomatic talks with the Iranian leadership was not to be regarded as a reward.

"Let's be clear that we didn't meddle in the election in Iran," Axelrod said

Logical follow-up question:

If Ahmadinejad is not in control of Iran Foreign Policy, why are you so keen on meeting with him? Why pay him any attention at all as concerns nukes or US Foreign policy?

Agreed - it is well established that nut-job has no control over the Iranian military - they are controlled by the supreme mullahs - who along with the military jointly control Iran’s nuclear programs ....

Hey Zero, is Ahmadinejad the domestic policy maker? ‘Cause, if he’s not, you’ll be negotiating will someone who ordered the beatings and murders of Iranian citizens. Nice job.

Obama and Democrats: When the facts prove you wrong (as per usual), just deny everything and make the rest up.

0bama did not come out to forcefully condemn the massacres in Iran because he “secretly” applauded them. 0bama wishes, I’m sure, that he could do the same to consolidate his power. No doubt the State Department used their back-channels to reassure the mad mullahs that anything “strongly” worded from this White House was for public consumption only.

Read the memo or you won’t be invited back to ask the pre-arranged questions.

Good question - The answer is probably that 0bama/Axelrod is tacitly admitting that all they are doing is 'bloviating' when they talk to Ahmadinejad. It'd be a real laugh seeing them trying to 'negotiate' with the Mullahs directly.
