The HEADLINE says its a coup — WSJ must have the third-string working Sunday afternoons, but the story doesn’t call it a coup. The headline writer read the first paragraph, wrote the hed, and posted the story without actually knowing what happened. Even Left-wing Univision news isn’t calling it a coup.

The following sentence was from the body of the report. At least they call it an “apparent” coup.

Reaction to the apparent coup was swift. U.S. President Barack Obama said he was “deeply concerned”

Sounds to me like an “impeach and remove” proceeding.

Well I, for one, am pretty angry at the Hondurans! What kind of people pick out a name like: “TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras” for one of their cities? No way I can pronounce that word.

parsy, who’s tongue is still all goobered up and is drooling on himself

The BO people think it’s an apparent coup. But they are the least experienced foreign policy team since Carter’s and they cannot be expected to know the difference yet.

Mr.Obama, be aware that your Cap and Trade Plan violates the US Constitution, savvy?

Right, which they should have done to Chavez too. Venezuela would be better off today.

It’s being spun as a coup by our Communist Propaganda Organ (aka the MSM). It’s not a coup!!!

Univision is on the phone right now with the ousted guy, from Costa Rica, who is claiming the “mafia” is behind all this!

He has gone into exile in Costa Rica, in perfect health, and is not strung up by his heels in Tegucigalpa.

Thus making him perfectly eligible for an American czarship of one sort or another....

Their Supreme Court ruled on the President's actions and found them un-Constitutional.

Their Congress acted on the SC ruling and voted to remove him from office.

The military followed their orders and enforced the law of the land.

That sounds like the rule of law and due process right down the line yet Pres-ent 0bama and SucState Hillary are both talking as if it isn't. Am I surprised at that? Not in the very least. But it is disturbing.

You give them (Obama administration) far too much credit by stating they cannot be expected to know the difference “yet”. You suppose they will see the error of their ways but I guarantee the tone will not change from the administration no matter if the Honduran Supreme Court, their legislature and the military did everything strictly by their constitution. Watch the news cycle and administration comments in the next few days. They will continue to demand that the guy be reinstated and don’t expect any media reports which accurately portray events. If it sounds like I’m cynical, well I guess I am.

Now, can we get the other Latin American armies to fight for their constitutions?

I wonder if we can get ours, if needed, to fight for ours.

...Congress voted Sunday to remove Mr. Zelaya, and appointed Mr. Micheletti as the new chief executive, as is mandated by the constitution....In Honduras, television stations were off the air, and electricity was out in parts of the capital..

The Obama administration worked in recent days to prevent President Zelaya's ouster, a senior U.S. official said. The State Department, in particular, communicated to Honduran officials on the ground that President Obama wouldn't support any non-democratic transfer of power in the Central American country....

Obama must be confused again.

That SOB just pushin socialism at all casts, even his at the cost of his own integrity - buthead.

Yes, Univision has already misrepresented it. And they have Chavez on now condemning it, calling it a coup and sounding very bellicose. As if it is any of his business. All we need now is Fidel to chime in. The communists in Honduras are gathering at the Venezuelan embassy. It becomes clearer and clearer what happened.

Sadly, I think you’re right. Even if they knew the difference, the ousting of a Leftist with Chavez-like ambitions would make them sad. But that doesn’t change the fact that the BO foreign policy people would have a hard time finding their *ss with both hands.

WSJ didn’t get it right this time! This is why Congress and the Supreme Court acted: “...The constitution bars changes to some of its clauses, such as the ban on a president serving more than one term...”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/28/AR2009062801569.html

“...Zelaya denied resigning and insisted he would serve out his term, even as the Supreme Court backed the military takeover and said it was a defense of democracy.

His ouster came hours before polls were to open on a constitutional referendum that Zelaya was pushing ahead even after the Supreme Court and the attorney general said it was illegal. The constitution bars changes to some of its clauses, such as the ban on a president serving more than one term, they said.

Some businesses in the capital, Tegucigalpa, closed earlier this week amid the rising tension, and many speculated there would be a coup. Those who opposed the referendum warned against voting, fearing violence at the polls.

Countries throughout Latin America and the world condemned Zelaya’s expulsion, and Chavez said before Micheletti was sworn in that if he was appointed president, “we will overthrow him.” Chavez said Venezuela “is at battle” and put his military on alert.

In Havana, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez vowed to work with allies to push for Zelaya’s return to power. He said Cuban Ambassador Juan Carlos Hernandez was held briefly in Tegucigalpa after he and other foreign diplomats tried unsuccessfully to prevent soldiers from taking away Honduran Foreign Minister Patricia Rodas.

Chavez said troops in Honduras temporarily detained the Venezuelan and Cuban ambassadors and beat them...”

It looks like Chavez was hoping for Honduras to become a puppet organ of Venezeula. Indeed, it is none of his business. Note that the Honduran military arrested the ambassadors of Chile, Venezeula, and Cuba. They’re all commies, and our State Department is on their side. Disgusting.
