In the high-stakes battle over health care, a growing cadre of liberal activists is aiming its sharpest firepower against Democratic senators who they accuse of being insufficiently committed to the cause. The attacks -- ranging from tart news releases to full-fledged advertising campaigns -- have elicited rebuttals from lawmakers and sparked a debate inside the party over the best strategy for achieving President Obama's top priority of a comprehensive health-system overhaul.
The rising tensions between Democratic legislators and constituencies that would typically be their natural allies underscore the high hurdles for Obama as he tries to hold together a diverse, fragile coalition. Activists say they are simply pressing for quick delivery of "true health reform," but the intraparty rift runs the risk of alienating centrist Democrats who will be needed to pass a bill.
...left-leaning bloggers and grass-roots organizations such as MoveOn.org, Health Care for America Now and the Service Employees International Union have singled out Democratic Sens. Ben Nelson (Neb.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Ron Wyden (Ore.), Arlen Specter (Pa.) and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) for the criticism more often reserved for opposition party members....
...in the Senate, where the Democrats do not have the 60 votes needed to stop a filibuster, members are weighing alternatives such as a nonprofit cooperative or a "fallback" provision that would kick in only if market reforms fail...
The Web-based MoveOn.org plans to run ads this week against Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) over the issue....
One Democratic strategist who is working full-time on health reform was apoplectic over what he called wasted time, energy and resources by the organizations....

I found a sure fire way to shut up the lefties who insist that there must be a “public option.”
I remind them of the WalMart effect.
WalMart moves in a community, and one by one, smaller merchants go out of business. But they offer great prices, right? Indeed. But at that point, they have tremendous power: they not only control the great prices (which often rise once there is no more local competition), but so much more. The previous jobs have disappeared; you may have NO choice where to work other than WalMart. You also have lost your choice of products; you will buy what WalMart carries, unless you are willing to travel to the next WalMart-free region.
Please note that I have not mentioned the nefarious effect of a TAXPAYER SUBSIDIZED WalMart, which a gov’t sponsored public option would surely be. How powerful would a gov’t subsidized Wal-Mart be? I doubt there would be a single solitary private business left.
So here is where we end up: A behemoth sized operation, using our own tax dollars to crush the competition. Once there is no competition, the behemoth sized company calls all the shots, because there is no other option.
This means you will plead the case for a CAT scan or MRI for your child to this bunch. It will be up to them whether or not your mom gets a hip or knee replacement. Maybe your dad is just too damn old to get dialysis anymore. After all “we’re the low price leader.”
The left needs to learn a word they rarely use in polite conversation:
Consequences
The Obama thugs definitely know how to intimidate people. We’ve got to encourage those politicians who are being targeted by the communist in chief.
Those dirty, rotten democrats who voted against the Hussein tax bill. Don’t they support the total enslavement of the American people to the left?? What the hell is wrong with them!
Vote democrats out of office in every single state and as soon as possible in the very next election cycle within your state. That is the only way to save America!
