Cap & Tax: Nobody Read It ... Because It Doesn't Exist [Andy McCarthy]
Nobody could have read the bill the House passed last night because there is no bill. There apparently wasn't time to pull together a finished product that accounted for the hundreds of pages of amendments because of Pelosi's headlong rush to slam this lunacy through before anybody had a chance to learn what was actually in it. So there is no "it" that all the pages and pages of words can be found "in." Democrats have passed a concept not a bill. John Hinderaker at Powerline (relying on David Freddoso at the Examiner) has the embarrassing details.

If nothing else, Pelosi should be forced to step down over this. The federal government, which so condescendingly quizzes our private sector people over their business transactions should be forced to ABORT the passage of this bill in the House. What business could survive if run by such complete incompetents?

So if there isn’t really a bill, then the legislation could not have been passed.

We will publish all non-emergency legislation to the website for five days, and allow the public to review and comment before the President signs it.

"Nobody could have read the bill the House passed last night because there is no bill." Sorta like the old ruse where they get some poor goober to sign a blank contract and they tell him: "we'll fill in the details later."

I would say the Republic officially ended yesterday. It is a repeat of Rome...when men could not bring themselves to understand what they passed or why they passed it...nor even read what they passed...then what we knew...has ended.
To add a bit of flavor to this episode...if you take the 50 states and split them up like the European countries....then thirty of them match up with the best of the European countries in terms of carbon issues. If we were to do anything stupid...I’d say that we split our efforts up and let the thirty positive states be left alone. Naturally...California and New York are at the top of the list of mass violators. If you disengage New York City from the rest of the state...then the rest of the state can join with the thirty “clean” states. For some reason, the media doesn’t pick up on this statistics game at all.

That’s what Todd Tiarht said on the phone yesterday pm.
“Nobody has seen the 300 page addition added at 3 AM “
“We don’t even know who has it!”

And this is what liberals said about President Bush....
