The aircraft was out of range of "man portable" anti-aircraft weapons. Only the US Navy was in position to shoot that aircraft down, and I don't believe that's possible for a second.

I didn't say anything about "missiles". I asked if he believed that kerosene vapors were sufficiently explosive that, if ignited, the combustion would explosively dismantle a 747. AFAIK, no one has ever been able to duplicate that "explosion" under the same PVT conditions...

I wanted a straight answer from someone who flies them; that is why I asked safisoft.
