House passes major energy-climate bill......

WASHINGTON – In a triumph for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed sweeping legislation Friday that calls for the nation's first limits on pollution linked to global warming and aims to usher in a new era of cleaner, yet more costly energy. The vote was 219-212, capping months of negotiations and days of intense bargaining among Democrats. Republicans were overwhelmingly against the measure, arguing it would destroy jobs in the midst of a recession while burdening consumers with a new tax in the form of higher energy costs. At the White House, Obama said the bill would create jobs, and added that with its vote, the House had put America on a path toward leading the way toward "creating a 21st century global economy."

Good luck with that, eh? Nice pic, though. Truth be told, I’d be more prepared to believe if it were Charlton than Barack.

(And I’m still embarrassed to be led by someone whose name resembles an embarrassing wind experience)

I was very proud of John Boehner, and I’m not even from Ohio.

“Couldn’t have done it without 8 turncoat Ratpublicans.”
I'm willing to bet that DemonRATS schemed long and hard in deciding who could vote no to provide cover for them next year. I'm also willing to bet that not a single one of the bastards had read the bill.

I agree 100%. Americans were snookered on this fiasco by all of them. There was bigtime collusion going on here. Politicians from both sides providing cover for each other and protecting each other’s jobs. I’m disgusted.

Another sad day for America. Brought to us by a marxist usurper. Lord when will this national nightmare end...He has ruined our country in 6 months time. What kind of monster takes over banks, car makers, taxes people’s basic energy needs to the extent that it will bankrupt millions of people? He is a heartless abortion loving monster. His assault on America continues. He truly hates America and all she has ever stood for. There are no words that describe adequately my contempt for a man who seeks to destroy the country we love and the country that patriots have fought and died for, and are even now risking their lives for. I will once again mourn for our country tonight. This loss on cap and tax is a major blow. Feels as bad as election night when I knew that half our country are so stupid they were conned by a communist with a bright smile. He is a traitor, America’s worst enemy sleeps in the White House.

IMO this ain't going to pass the Senate. People are aware of this now and will bombard their Senators. And there's enough blue dogs who oppose this.

If this does passes though, I'll probably be out of a job. I work for a logistics transportation company for Honeywell. That's a double-whammy for me. Maybe I can do a personal FReeperthon? ROFL

I sent this to the Kirk Jerk:

Dear Congressman Kirk: Your vote for the misnamed "American Clean Energy and Security Act" was a terrible mistake and a huge disservice to your constituency, as well as the USA as a whole. It's only measurable effect will be to act as a gigantic added tax burden to consumers on energy used to heat homes without even the justification of accelerating development of cheap, safe nuclear and coal power. This sorry excuse for an energy bill is even more unforgiveable since the US cannot afford the added financial burden of such worthless delusional 'energy' legislation in these dire financial times. Unless you do everything you can to stop this bill henceforth, I will work to have you replaced in your congressional district.

No it’s not.

It has to collapse, it’s the only way.

Next to keep conservatives ( The Dagny Taggerts amongst us ) feeling we are represented, they will let us win a small victory.

Maybe to stop condom distribution to 3rd graders in some 200 student school district in Idaho.

I am in Galts Valley now and I make very effort to only buy foreign goods and services.

My age is showing, but are you talking about the Doors’ Jim Morrison?

I don't think this is “The End My Friends”. It could be that this will “Light The (My) Fire” in the Senate.

If this monstrosity gets thru the Senate, I will be surprised.

(Apologies in advance if this is not the Morrison that you refer to.) :)

It would be interesting to see what pressure was placed on the 8 RINOs via the White Crib (Barry, Rahm, David), or deals cut with Pelosi or Hoyer. What promises were made, bribes paid, or souls sold to make 8 of these idiots swing to “yea”? How would we find out? Did ABC, PMSNBC or other state-run media outlets promise these “good” RINOs appearances on the Sunday talk shows?
