Vote was 219 For 219 Against (Roll Call). 8 Republicans voted For and 2 Did not vote. Enough to have made the difference.
Republicans who voted For:
If you are a constituent of any of the above, you may wish to express your displeasure at their voting for a bill that will do nothing to prevent climate change but will saddle American's with thousands more in tax increases and job losses. Contact links for each member are available on their web page linked above.
Not Voting were:
Constitutents of Jeff Flake may wish to inquire why he was not able to vote today. Cong. Sullivan was on one month's leave for treatment of an alcohol addiction. It's interesting to note that Cong. Patrick Kennedy (D-MA) was taken out of alcohol rehab for the purposes of voting. Dems apparently felt passing this bill was more important, or perhaps more doable, than sobering up a Kennedy.

NUKE THEM FROM ORBIT. Everyone who voted for the bill needs to be OUT of office ASAP.
The constitution provides for congress to make a tax on INCOME
This is a tax upon commodities in order to RESTRICT INCOME
it is un-constitutional
Pelosi: "Okay Patty, today we're voting "yes" and then we'll take you back to the happy house."
These people are insane. No wonder they desperately want us disarmed.
3 Yes RINOs were from New Jersey - I’m from Arizona and am VERY Disappointed that Jeff Flake did not vote...hope he had a pretty darn good reason for missing.
Sullivan: Democrat National Energy Tax Plan is a Partisan Step in the Wrong Direction
Yet he didn't bother to vote on it? WTF?
Congressman Flake Opposes Cap and Trade Bill Bill Is More About Generating Revenue than Climate Change
Yet he didn't vote on it either!
It's the only way to be sure
LOL Damn Straight!
I think I am with you, the GOP isn’t worth voting for anymore. I am done.
The liberal agenda is always advanced by a narrow vote.
A narrow vote is all they need.
I’m from Arizona too. What has me hot is that by voting “Yes,” these 8 RINOs allowed Harry Mitchell and Ann Kirkpatrick to vote “No” and protect their seats, literally. Right now, I’m going off the wall bonkers about this.
Mark Steven Kirk, IL-10.
This district includes parts of Lake and Cook counties. Why bother to call himself a republican?
* Did you read the 300+ "manager's amendment" added at 3:09am the morning of the vote?
* What were your impressions of Leader Boehner's filibuster speech? Did you agreed with anything Boehner said, if so what specifically?
* How will the local governments in your district pay for all the necessary inspectors and bureaucrats that are called for in the bill, and do you view that as an unfunded mandate or undue burden to local governments, businesses and property owners?
* Were you aware of the hidden EPA report, and if so, when did you know about it? Will you support an investigation regarding the ethics and political dishonesty of hiding this report?
* Do you believe science is up for a consensus, or is science based on fact? If you feel it is based on fact, why do you believe the global warming hoax?
I'm sure there are more, but this is a start.
You think that is bad?
By printing more money for the government to spend, 0bama, Geithner, and Bernanke have created a massive tax on not just income, but even moreso on savings, and they did it without congressional approval.
They gave themselves our wealth by creating new money for themselves, decreasing the value of ours.
SURE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A UNITIED FRONT BUT STOP DISSING IN GENERAL THE ONLY GROUP TRYING TO PREVENT THIS FARCE...THE PUBS...
BLAME GOES TO THE RATS AND BAMA...PERIOD...
AND BLAME GOES TO ALL YOU THIRD PARTY VOTERS AND "I'M SO IMPORTANT" VOTERS THAT GAVE KEY SEATS TO MORE RATS....
I BLAME THEM!
Yes, he had a more important engagement. flake!
Lots of FReepers, including me, routinely make statements about being fed up with the GOP. They're DU trolls too?
you dump the only party that has one iota of sense because only MOST of them fought this bill off, and 8 voted for....
That's still 8 too many. Republicans are supposed to be for limited government and free market economics, remember? 8 Republicans voted for it knowing the consequences and destruction it will do to our economy and quality of life, why are they even Republicans?
this bill was going to pass and everyone knows it
No it wouldn't have had the "Gang of 8" remembered what they supposed to stand for.
the Rats who voted no...like Minnick in Idaho...are covering their ass and not paying for it...if the rats needed other rats votes, they would have gotten it.
You just don't understand how the game is played. It doesn't matter how the Rats vote. When it comes to election time, they'll demonize the Republican for being in favor of pollution and the Republican will sit there like a bump on the log and the Dem will win. Or, if they voted no, they'll trumpet that and have an issue over the Republicans. Face it, Republicans suck at playing politics which explains their comatose situation.

Where was Michael Steele & the RNC? Where were the commercials educating the people on Cap and Tax?
BLAME GOES TO THE RATS AND BAMA...PERIOD...
Nope, blame goes to the Stupid Party for not fighting this like they should.
AND BLAME GOES TO ALL YOU THIRD PARTY VOTERS AND "I'M SO IMPORTANT" VOTERS THAT GAVE KEY SEATS TO MORE RATS.
Where did the poster mention anything about a 3rd party? He/she is frustrated with the GOP and I and many other FReepers concur. Nice strawman argument though.
