The Obama administration, fearing a battle with Congress that could stall plans to close Guantanamo, has drafted an executive order that would reassert presidential authority to incarcerate terrorism suspects indefinitely, according to three senior government officials with knowledge of White House deliberations.
Such an order would embrace claims by former president George W. Bush that certain people can be detained without trial for long periods under the laws of war. Obama advisers are concerned that bypassing Congress could place the president on weaker footing before the courts and anger key supporters, the officials said.

We will be the terror suspects or slaves if the cap and trade becomes law. Take your pick.
So an executive order overrides the constitution?
Reality Bites! Finally, someone in in the White House develops an adult brain. OF COURSE, this is a Friday news bury, but I’m gonna bookmark it.

Yes, I'll bet the liberal blogs are not going to be happy about this, or will ignore it.
Are you kidding? this isn’t meant for islamic terrorists. it is meant for YOU!
Yeah, get a brain. Nothing this WH does is meant for the usual enemy. It is meant for people like you.
The enemy is sunning in Bermuda and Pahlau.
I am not a foreign national. Are you?
No, but this article does not mention the word foreign national. If I missed that, please point those words out to me.
Of course, this won’t be covered, any more than the massively important Cap and Trade was particularly well covered before the denouement.

Under one White House draft that was being discussed this month, according to administration officials, detainees would be imprisoned at a military facility on U.S. soil, but their ongoing detention would be subject to annual presidential review. U.S. citizens would not be held in the system.
Is Obama a United States Citizen? Who even knows how that is defined any more?
Barry had a big media event just after his coronation signing an exective order demanding a prompt disposition of individuals housed at Guantanamo .
And he ordered Gitmo closed.
For national security reasons.
“In view of significant concerns raised by these detentions,
both within the United States and internationally,
prompt and appropriate disposition
of the individuals currently detained at Guantánamo
and closure of the facility would further the national security and
foreign policy interests of the United States and the interests of justice.”
Five months later he demands indefinite detention of terrorists.
For national security reasons.
Obama is starting to make Jacko look grounded.
