Sheesh, really! She’s exactly how I pictured her. Sanford is a slimeball, but I can’t accuse him of having bad taste.

Very good looking woman, and much closer to his age than, say, Monica Lewinsky was to Bill Clinton, and countless others probably were to their ‘infidels’.
On the face of it, I don’t think Sanford should resign.
But he may wind up in a divorce, and that would hurt him as fatally as a resignation , most likely.
He might be able, though, to exit the scene with a little more class than Clinton did, who, as we all remember, did not actually exit the scene EVER, to this day.
I, for one, don’t understand this public exculpation these politicos go through, which, as you’ll remember everyone from Clinton to McGreevy, seems to importantly begin and end with the “I have sinned” angle. Why doesn’t anyone just come out, stop STILL cultivating the “christian” or I’m holier than thou” vote, and say, “My libido made me do it, I couldn’t help it, she made me feel young again” or any of a thousand other things that are probably closer to the truth, and more resonant with most Americans, than “I have sinned”.
