The Most Mediocre Woman in America Mediocre folks don't become governor or senator unless the party apparatus or a pile of money is behind them. Think Biden or Kerry or Obama. (Obama had a mediocre record, some rhetorical skill, and buckets of money and a big organization behind him (and I'm not taking about the DNC).)
Sarah Palin made it in the face of party opposition, and she doesn't have a pile of money.
