When she said on national TV “No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America when we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian to get away with such a remark as he did,” that was the last straw for me. That is utter gibberish.

The omission of the common contraction "It's," from the start of that string of words means she can't communicate? She gave that great convention address with a bum teleprompter. I wouldn't be so obsessive/compulsive about grammar when the other prospective candidates are so uninspiring or tarnished. Sarah connects with the base.

It’s depending on the meaning of it’s.

Leaving off “It’s” is the least of the grammatical problems in Palin’s statement “No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America when we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian to get away with being able to make such a remark as he did and to think that that’s acceptable.”

We think it’s funny to get away with being able to think that that [Letterman’s joke] is acceptable? I can’t even wrap my head around what she’s saying. Just when I think I’ve gotten to the bottom of it, I find yet another condition lurking just below. Who is she criticizing? Letterman for telling the joke? Or the people who get away with thinking his joke is acceptable? Or the people who think that it’s funny to get away with thinking that Letterman’s joke is acceptable? What exactly is she trying to say?

The problem is more often than not, when Sarah Palin opens her mouth, something equally incoherent comes out.
