I am wondering when the euthanasia folks are going to start touting this one? I mean, it sure seemed to me as if the most caring, most civil, most intelligent president evah just said that healthcare could be cheaper if we don't give old folks and the infirm the full measure of care they now get. It appeared that Obama said we should just let them die or suffer because they aren't worth the effort. Imagine if Bush had said something like this? The left wouldn't have hesitated to call him any manner of names. Oddly, though, the Old Media have not had so much as a raised eyebrow over his statements on Wednesday.

He said “we” should give people painkillers instead of surgery and unnecessary tests. He didn’t say it only had to be old people...just everyone for whom “logic” said their chances weren’t worth the cost of aggressive treatment.

Well, actually, he did use the term “anybody’s mom” which indicates the elderly. But in other commentary on this so-called plan, it seems clear that the elderly, the infirm, and even severely injured military will be lower on the ration list than, say, an able-bodied illegal alien.

I won’t be surprised when Obama opens vast areas in the west for every family to take their elderly parents out to. The car will pull up to a gate and let the elderly out. The gate will open and the old people will simply wander off to die.
