Greenpeace just came out in opposition to the massive, 1,200-page bill the House is considering today. I say 1,200 pages, but it may have expanded to 1,500 overnight, as there's a rumor than 300 pages of amendments were added around 2 a.m.

Oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooo! The transparency is blinding me!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder why Greenpeace opposes it.

For the record, Greenpeace says it doesn't do enough, so they oppose it. I think this is a head fake statement. Secretly, they love it.

"Since the Waxman-Markey bill left the Energy and Commerce committee, yet another fleet of industry lobbysists has weakened the bill even more, and further widened the gap between what Waxman-Markey does and what science demands. As a result, Greenpeace opposes this bill in its current form. ..." More

But I want to (maybe, possibly, if I wish real hard) lower global temperatures by two tenths of a degree by 2100.

Does it matter if it passes? The left holds all the chairs and will simply have each department implement it via policy.

“as there’s a rumor than 300 pages of amendments were added around 2 a.m. “

According to Republicans on C-SPAN today, the amendment (200+ additional pages) was delivered at 3:09 AM this morning.

This doesn’t need to be rushed, it needs to be SLOOOWED DOWN!

Thus, the cap-and-trade bill solved global warming for free, before even being passed, because Hell hath officially frozen over... If the bill narrowly passes, as was predicted yesterday, it's likely to make life difficult for a bunch of Blue Dog Democrats in 2010.
