LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson, defined in equal parts as the worlds greatest entertainer and perhaps its most enigmatic figure, was about to attempt one of the greatest comebacks of all time. Then his life was cut shockingly and so far, mysteriously short.

the quality in a person or society that arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent in arts, letters, manners, scholarly pursuits, etc.
So, it's VASTLY more than pop music. We have certainly put a huge emphasis on music and film in our country, to our great loss.
I actually see a great deal of similarity between MJ worship and Obama worship. One reason we elected Obama is because our society has a difficult time understanding what a true hero is. They have been raised to believe in a kind of worship of pop culture icons, so why wouldn’t they pick the cool guy?
I’m not surprised. Just disgusted. Not much that happens these days surprises me anymore.
I used to listen to Harpsachord music in my office at work. My staff thought I was a cross between Gomez Addams and some kind of Vampire.
Funny stuff.
Maybe MJ faked his death to get out of his 02 performances? LOL! Can't wait for the conspiracy nuts to start spinning this one!
Now we'll be hearing of Michael sightings along with Elvis and Jim Morrison.
You think Elvis might have a word or two for Michael for marrying his daughter.
I listen to Japanese Anime Music, every time a hispanic asks me what I am listening to I say “that’s spanish music, tu no comprede espanol?”....
The look on their faces is priceless.
our country is getting a big bad dose of Hopey/Change and all of the so called news stations (including Fox) could talk of nothing but this? Wow....
Well, it is the same thing, as you say “I think far too many Americans get so caught up in celebs”, isn’t the obamanation, one of their own celebs, just forgotten for a moment, while they pay tribute to another.
You don’t think those guys took one look at him and ran, not walked, ran to the nearest Lloyds of London office and took out enough insurance to cover any potential losses.
Someone was doing the Happy Hamster dance yesterday evening in London.
I hate to sound cold, but this show biz.
As much as it pains me I am sad. I grew up with Thriller. I was 12 years old when it came out and MTV would play it at 3 oclock every day. I would rush home from school to watch it.. Rest easy Micheal.
I LOVE harpsichord music, although I didn’t realize that I shared that enjoyment with vampires! LOL!
“Uh oh, the grave spitters are coming out in full force this morning!”
Yeah, kind of ironic. Every post about his death is immediately followed by comments asking “what’s the big deal?”, then followed by another 150+ Freeper comments - lol.
True, but it give the idiots in the House cover to pass the Cap & Tax bill.
He was a freak whose very fame is an indictment of our country.
Regardless of Jackson’s death, Cap & Tax will pass. They have the votes to do whatever they want. They will pass a trillion dollar national healthcare bill as well. Elections have consequences. They have the votes. BHO will get most of whatever he wants at least until 2010.
Yes, I see a linkage.
In the face of Congress enacting the largest tax increase in American history, coupled with the most serious economic crisis in the country since World War II and Obama’s abandonment of the War on Terror, the main stream media is fixated by the death of a celebrity that most ordinary people regarded as a pervert and serial pedophile, at worst, and a delusional, pampered, secluded nitwit who was victimized by his managers and handlers, at best. The attention once again demonstrates why we have the clown in the White House.
Allah is a mythical figure.. Hes not real.. but Jackson is..
