Sarah Palin -- The Last Republican Standing?
http://townhall.com ^ | Friday, June 26, 2009 | by Douglas MacKinnon

It’s official. Flies now have a longer life-expectancy than the political viability of most 2012 GOP presidential contenders. At least the male contenders.

Two weeks after David Letterman’s forced apology to Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, and days after Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina teamed with Senator John Ensign of Nevada for admittance to the “Adulterer/Hypocrite Hall of Shame,” Palin is starting to appeal to more and more Republicans…and Americans. As well she should.

Hillary Clinton certainly proved that the citizens of our nation are prepared to vote for a woman. Absent a questionable campaign strategy, she could be in the Oval Office right now -- or at 3 AM -- deciding how best to deal with Iran, the economy, and Joe Biden’s curious mind. Regardless, there is no doubt that a woman will soon lead our nation…and obviously, not a moment too soon.

Now, while the left, their handmaidens in the media, alleged feminists, and various late-night comics will flat out tell you that it’s over for Sarah Palin, I would beg to differ. Despite the most unprofessional, unethical, and unrelenting character assassination in modern U.S. political history, not only is she still standing tall, but still retains that “it” factor. She is very comfortable in her own skin, believes what she believes, and is not afraid to challenge the tenets of political correctness or speak-up for traditional values when needed. Attributes that tens of millions of Americans believe actually qualifies someone to be president.

Sarah Palin has my vote 100%. She reminds me of Reagan in many ways.

Right now, she is the only person on the political scene who gives me a glimmer of hope for this country.

Palin 2012. Go Sarah!

One time I got so mad I split a chair. I try to keep things in check. It really isn’t worth it but it sure feels damn good.

“I moved to Williamson County to get away from this aspect of Nashville.”
That’s exactly what people in Austin do to get away from that aspect of Austin. They move to Williamson County! LOL!

“Where did I suggest I’d be voting for them because they are beautiful”

Get it straight, I simply pointed out that was the attribute that you posted, in fairness you did state there were other reason.... but you didn’t share any.

“Who do you have in mind for President?”

I have a few people in mind, I have posted them but see no reason to do so now. I had rather get through the next two
years before addressing that. Frankly this obsession with presidential politics, at this time, is a little unsettling, and Sarah Palin’s cheerleaders are beginning to appear cult like.

Peter the reason I like Sarah is because she is real. I am so tired of the the surreal politicians and intellectuals who aren’t of the integrity to be fit to be dog catchers yet find such glee in tearing down a woman that epitomizes the best of America. You assume a lot. If you like someone else please say it. As for referring to people who like Sarah as being cult like that is ridiculous. We merely happen to like people who actually stand with us on the things we care about. Also a bit of my zeal for Sarah is because she drives the left and self important power leeches bonkers and buddy there is something really gratifying that goes far beyond any calculation on winning in that. Sarah is something special and I’m tired of seeing good people torn down because they try to have good families, love their husbands, love their country, respect the constitution and their constituents and aren’t ashamed one bit of their commitment to any of those things.

We have a Washington D.C. full to the brim with some of the best educated people on earth. Isn’t time they be judged by their results? Isn’t it time to try something different. Someone not born of the beast.

I’ve been through there. It is beautiful country. I love rolling hills. Here on the Coast, it’s just flat land. I’m two miles from salt water, high and dry at 28’ elevation. The eye of Hurricane Ike went right over my house but we were lucky enough not to have any damage other than one of the pillars on my front porch was moved about 4” and the loss of four large Cedar trees. My Magnolia, Live Oak and Cypress trees came through OK though.

I’ve had those arguments with lefties too. There have been so many words written explaining why they hate her but I still don’t fully understand it.

Sweet sweet 2012 come on!

Sexist chauvinist attitudes exist in full effect, I mean most people don’t like Hillary but what she was on the receiving end of during the campaign was nothing short of cruel and that was from her own lot.

Sarah Palin will be subject to much much worse treatment from those cretins.
