There are two definitions of “nomenclature,” one being a set of symbols used in technical fields, the other being simply a name or a designation.
Of course, I didn’t use the word because I’m oh so familiar with it’s dictionary meaning, rather because Walter once said to The Dude in “The Big Lebowski,” (paraphrasing) “Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.”
For the record, yes, the sort of person who throws random slices of dialogue from “The Big Lebowski” into his daily conversation is just the sort of person to dwell on the demise of a song-and-dance man.
