It is all very sad. It sounds like Gov. Sanford was really torn and in love. This was more than a Kennedy like bed hop. Not excusing it(so no flame posts please). It’s just very sad that he could not see where this would all end before he jumped. The damage to his family, his political career and himself will be hard to heal.

Whoever outed him is just as much a sleezebag imho. If it was the republican political machine, they could have handled it privately....telling him that they had this info and for him to forget running for Prez., etc. They did not have to send love soaked emails to a wolverine press that would humiliate his wife and harm his children.

So if it is discovered that someone in our party did this, they will not get my vote for dogcatcher.

Just my two cents.

You said — So if it is discovered that someone in our party did this, they will not get my vote for dogcatcher.

Actually, if it were someone in our own group that did it, that person (or persons) were doing us a favor by exposing it so early.

BUT, if I were to *bet* on some group (or other candidate) who would do this kind of thing — it would be Romney and/or Romney supporters.
