Irv was once an avowed socialist turned libertarian. He used to follow Rush on WWDB in Philly. He LOATHED Limbaugh, calling his show format phony debate. Irv wanted action and argument and challenged Rush many time to debate him. Irv was a sometimes guest on Firing Line and Buckley and him would square off. Irv leaned left but was honest about the pratfalls of socialism.

I guess most of you know that the event at which Irv collapsed was a talk by G. Edward Griffin, the author of "The Creature from Jekyll Island"

He did not like Rush

OTOH, he liked the IRS a lot less. I count him as a good guy :-)

Used to listen to Irv during his days at WWDB-FM. Lost track of him after I moved out of the Philly area. I thought that he’d be out of the talkshow game at his age.

Irv was full of contradictions. His unpredictability made him interesting to listen to, but I rather doubt that I could tolerate his economic ideas now. Irv was a bit of a socialist.
