Hmmmmm, interesting thought but I don't think these political hacks are that smart. Even if they were, they might want to be careful. They slammed Reagan as a dunce and couldn't wait to run against him. Didn't work out too well for those folks.

I don’t think they really are doing it purposely. But they aren’t too smart, as you say, because the more they do this the more sympathy it creates for Palin, IMO. If she runs in ‘12 she can use the hate and incivility of the left as an issue.
