The patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world Friday the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant, perhaps the world's most prized archaeological and spiritual artifact, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia.....

Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries."

The announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome

Now that would be a believable sign.

I’ll believe it when I see it, and even then, I’ll want experts to examine it. Otherwise, it’s like the fake 0 birth certificate.

Experts have examined the Shroud of Torin for decades and yet no consensus exists on it's authenticity. Can't imagine this would be resolved in our lifetime.

I did read chapter four of the e-book about the Mahdi. It was very well researched. I found it to be very helpful and informing. If you will read it, I know it will help understand what the Muslims believe about the Mahdi. I plan on reading the rest of the book too.

In Hebrews 9:14 we are told that the ark contained the stone tablets of the law, a golden jar of manna, and Aaron's staff that had budded. However in 1 Kings 8:9, when Solomon brought the Ark into the Temple which he had built, it only contained the stone tablets. The other contents, the rod and the jar of manna, must have been removed at some point before the ark was brought into the temple. And that is all the Bible says about the contents of the ark of the covenant.

I think you meant Hebrews 9:4.

In Revelation 11:19 the 'ark' of His testament: which would certainly be the tablets, the 'manna' and Aaron's staff as His testament were seen to be already in Heaven. Not hardly likely the Heavenly Father left behind the very things that signified His covenant given how His children continually broke that covenant.

Well, God created satan, also knowing what he was going to do, didn’t He?

I have not found the notion that Lucifer was created with the foreknowledge of the Heavenly Father that Lucifer was going to rebel anywhere in the Bible. He did however create him with the 'freedom' to choose. Just as that same 'freedom' is given to the children. Real LOVE cannot be commanded or dictated and that is what all this is about to ascertain, 'judge' whether all individuals have a natural affection for the Heavenly Father. Lucifer flopped and has already been judged and received the death sentence.

Oops, you are exactly right - I must have fat-fingered it. Thanks!

Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. Hebrews 9: 3-4

That book rather turns the contemporary evangelical teachings that the coming world government will be the “Revived Roman Empire” upside down. The author's argument is quite compelling and has changed my previously held views as taught to me.

In discussion with others about the matter, the question has arisen; “How could the backwards nations mentioned by Richardson rise to such global power”? My guess is that a total and complete global economic collapse (such as we are potentially facing now) would reduce the 1st world nations to that of the third world, instantly. The Muslim world would also be hit by the financial disaster, but...they have the one commodity that every nation will need. Oil. An economic collapse could instantly unite Muslim nations with their oil stranglehold and force a Muslim global powerhouse with a rising no-name Muslim leader to usher in a new global era.

It may be agruend that the US has plenty or reserves, however, we should, in our Wesern-centered world view, be mindful that the OT & NT are uniquely Israel and Jerusalem centered, not Europe, or the US. And Israel is not a petroeum exporting powerhouse. For that matter, almost all of the world relies on imported oil to function. There is a curious verse in the Bible that, has been interpreted many many different ways, but in light of a possible global Muslim world government view makes sense in the new light.

“6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart[a] of wheat for a day's wages,[b] and three quarts of barley for a day's wages,[c] and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Rev 6:6

The part about the poverty, or, more likely, the hyperinflation, where working a whole day is not even enough pay to feed one person for that day is easy to understand. But the next comment about the oil and wine is where interpretations vary. Mostly, commentators interpret the passage so say whilst there will be outrageous poverty, the oil/wine comment is indicative of there being extreme wealth by an elete few

However, in light of a possible Middle Eastern muslim global government, it is easier to see that it may be interpreted as petroleum and ethanol/methanol being highly coveted.

just my take.
...thoughts?

Obama has made clear he is for the redistribution of wealth from Nation to Nation that can only occur under a world taxing authority. That means world government to redistribute wealth, nation to nations. He gets what he wants because “he won the election” and Democrats control three branches out of four right now.

Settle down. Obama does not command much if any 'respect' from other world leaders or their governments. He's pretty much regarded as a fool & a laughing stock. Just because our Media thinks the guy walks on water doesn't mean that everybody does.

Well, if I believed in the bible as you do, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.
