Sanford-Maria e-mails shed light on governor's affair
E-mails, obtained by The State newspaper in December, between Gov. Mark Sanford and Maria, a woman in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
At the time, efforts to authenticate the e-mails were unsuccessful. However, Sanfords office Wednesday did not dispute their authenticity.
The State has removed the womans full name and other personal details, including her street address, e-mail address and childrens names.
McClatchy special correspondent Angeles Mase on Wednesday visited the 14-story apartment building in Buenos Aires where the woman lives, according to the e-mails, which included her address. A woman at the address answered to the name in the e-mails and, at first, agreed to speak to a visitor, but she declined after the visitor identified herself as a reporter.
Shown a photograph of Sanford, the doorman at the building said he did not recognize him. According to the doorman, the woman has two sons, one a teenager of driving age and the other younger. The e-mails refer to the womans two sons.

Dearest, ... (excerpt, read the rest here)
And I thought a was a crummy speller.
And with that, there goes Sanford’s “World Wind” presidential campaign.
I can’t believe he actually quoted the Bible in a letter to his mistress.
Gentlemen don’t read other gentlemen’s mail.
He also voted to impeach Clinton.
Or do you mean the President Clinton who had a sexual relationship in the Oval Office with a subordinate which included sodomizing her with a cigar?
I'm not defending Sanford, but you are comparing Apples to Oranges.
Love is not only blind, it is one of the most powerful attributes we have as human beings. But it is our responsibility to use it wisely, properly, maturely, responsibly, and morally. If you don’t it will get you into trouble like it happened to Sanford. When you allow temptations of adulterous love to continue then it just adds fuel to the fire which becomes uncontrollable because it has been allowed to continue, taking more will power than at first to put it out. This leads to the consummation of that adulterous affair, and then guilt enters in, but it isn’t strong enough to prevent the continuation of this adulterous affair until it is too late and it becomes public and your life is destroyed...........unless, of course, you happen to be a liberal demonrat. Then it’s nothing to feel guilty about because all of your colleagues are doing the same thing anyway, and they’ll just say, so what? What’s the big deal. It’s another notch on the bed post.
Yep, THEE President Clinton. Sanford was a member of the US House of Representatives. Clinton and Sanford both lied about their affairs. I just found it ironic that Sanford, who voted to impeach Clinton for basically the same thing he did, which was lie to the American people.
He’s lucky he’s married to the woman he is!
If he were married to me, once I’d read all this mushy crap that he should have been writing to me (had I been raising 4 sons!) I’d kick his ass out the front door so fast...and his entire wardrobe would be right behind him!!!
That is some kind of sickening jazz to read. I feel for his wife and sons.

Jenny Sanford: “I asked my husband to leave two weeks ago”

Thanks for posting that. I hadn’t seen it. A very elegant statement.
And she’s a far better woman than I am.
And as we all get wrapped up in reading juicy emails that do not concern us, the Democrats are rushing through legislation that will destroy the country.
But, it’s more important to jump on the bandwagon the media threw out for us and cast out another Republican that doesn’t life up to perfection.
Perhaps the GOP deserves to remain the minority
It's always worthwhile to be informed on current events. Once in a while your opponents bring them up.

Change 'love' to 'lust' and you make a good point.
He should have bought a Corvette instead!
Or do you mean the President Clinton who had a sexual relationship in the Oval Office with a subordinate which included sodomizing her with a cigar?
I believe this thread is about a sitting governor who was derelict of his duties while MIA abroad for 5 days, lied to his staff about his whereabouts, used state email domain subject to sunshine laws to exchange smarmy love notes with his mistress, and very possibly used taxpayer funds for multiple trysts with his lover.
If that isn't enough, during a press conference he spluttered, "I spent the last five days crying in Argentina." Egads.
If it is just lust, you’d think he could find a willing partner in the state capital somewhere. And not sneak out of town and fly halfway around the world for a piece of-—.
I certainly wish him luck in the rest of his life and hope he can reconcile with his family somewhere out of the public eye. I imagine he is a lawyer so he can probably still make a good living as a lobbyist in DC. What an idiot. Biily Graham had a policy, he wouldn't go into private with a woman. Not even an elevator. Sanford would have done well to take a note from that playbook.
I hate to have to say it
But I very firmly feel
Maria’s not an asset to the abbey
I’d like to say a word in her behalf
Maria makes me laugh
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertijibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!
Many a thing you know you’d like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sand
Oh, how do you solve a problem like Maria?
“But, its more important to jump on the bandwagon the media threw out for us and cast out another Republican that doesnt life up to perfection.”
Exactly. It’s not a coincidence that this happens over and over just like clockwork.
