Below are excerpts of e-mails, obtained by The State newspaper in December, between Gov. Mark Sanford and Maria, a woman in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The State has removed the womans full name and other personal details, including her address, e-mail address and childrens name.
Sanfords office Wednesday did not dispute the authenticity of the emails.
McClatchy special correspondent Angeles Mase visited the 14-story apartment building in Buenos Aires Wednesday where the woman lives, according to the emails, which included her address. The woman at the address answered to the name in the emails and, at first, agreed to speak to a visitor, but she declined after the visitor identified herself as a reporter.
The doorman at the building, shown a photograph of Sanford, said he did not recognize him. According to the doorman, the woman has two sons, one a teenager of driving age and the other younger. The emails refer to the womans two sons.
Sanford’s career in the House and Governor have been reliably socially conservative. Yet his main policies are fiscal restraint. Watch the media to tout Sanford as the religious right candidate.
I’m with you. This all had to be common knowledge in South Carolina. Instead of going along with the “stimulus spending” to keep it quiet Sanford continued the fight to refuse the federal money. With all the piling on going on in this thread lets at least give him some credit for that.
“Uh, you DID go there, Mark. What an incredible, selfish ass he is. I hope the Mrs. kicks him to the curb. “
I hope we don’t see another photoop of wife standing by her man this time...
Swamp land.
Who outed the emails? He’s now toast. Plus, IMHO, from the presser it sounds like he’s still gaga over his Argentinian and her tan lines.
Mark Levin mentioned on his show something about a FOIA request filed but it doesn’t make sense that he would not know it long before now because these emails are from 2008!!
Something smells.
It does reek (did I spell that correctly?) of MAD politics. Now will Americans waver on their views of capntrade and national health care because some MEN have imperfect private lives? These MEN need to fess up and keep fighting for what is right. Just because we all fail and some things doesn’t mean our IDEALS are wrong. On the contrary. Perfection is hard to reach. That’s why it’s perfect. I don’t know Mark Sanford nor whether he’s put forth that he’s a perfect creature. I do know that Obama has plans for this country that are opposed to FREEDOM and the American Dream. Now we need some real men to MAN UP!
Ahhh, worse than a Rino,then.
LOL they found out more about Joe the Plumber in 24 hours than they did about Baraq in 24 months.
A cautionary tale for anyone typing personal emails from work!
Gotcha ... I’ll ping you when some nerd hack’s 0’s Blackberry.
:)
“Hes been the best Governor in the country.”
one of the worst unemployment rates of the country. he wasn’t going anywhere.
You were two scumbags who decided to break your vows to the people who committed themselves to you for life. You both sold out everybody who trusted you for a good orgasm.
Exactly. It's not like he fell sick or had a car accident. Cheaters always use the same lines. "It just happened! I wasn't looking for this! I didn't mean for this to happen!"
Don’t hold your breath.
Sanford wrote this stuff on a State computer that is subject to public scrutiny. Its like he wanted to get caught to begin with.
No kidding. In fact, most employers, I think, can track what websites you go to also.
Yep. I’m with you guys.
Funny how her detractors go on about how her supporters are only interested in her because she is “an attractive celebrity”.
I support her because she appears to be a real, down to earth conservative. The fact that she is attractive is nice, but it isn’t that.
If Phyllis Schlafly ran for President, I would vote for her in a heartbeat. Sure, she is a woman, but she is a conservative first in my eyes.
Very well put!
We all get lambasted from time to time or lambaste others. Just let it go is my humble advice.
