can think of a former Democrat pro-choicer, who would have never been elected.

First of all, that is typical anti-Reagan slime from the likes of Romney bots and Rudybots. Reagan was never pro-choice. And second, Reagan's conversion to conservatism did not coincide with his running for different offices (unlike Romney's).

Right now, Palin seems to be the only one remotely up to the job. I am taking a wait-and-see approach, but I sure as heck ain't seeing much - and especially in Romney.
