You are so right! This was wayyy too Swaggert-ish! He could not have been more pathetic if he was trying.
Also...I was bothered by the way he seemed to speak so highly of his affair-partner! How hurtful that must have been for his wife and children to hear him express regrets over hurting “her” and to refer to her as a “good friend, that was the only one he could talk to”...The misplaced loyalty was frustrating!
