I like Palin, but she has to convince me she can win, can think on her feet, and not be too influenced by her advisors. I wanted to hear more about what she's done in Alaska and less about "being one of us." Jindal is where I'm leaning, for now, if he runs.

Romney, Huckabee, or any senator outside of maybe DeMint or Coburn are among my last choices.

WHAT?? It’s an easy, easy choice: he ain’t runnning (unless he’s delusional).

I agree he ain't running. But I would still vote for him if he did. You don't know what his relationship with his wife is like.

My 15 year old son is more responsible than Andre Bauer and I’d much rather have had “nobody” in charge last weekend than Bauer.

You mean Mr. Rodgers?

Well sir, you are indeed a rare bird. You are to be commended for your fidelity.

Very true. However, in my experience, more men than women seem to cheat on their mates.

Apologies for butting in...

It's sad that you say this. In my circle of friends, infidelity is very rare. I guess it depends on who you know.

If they voted for Obama, they are NOT conservatives. They should have done us all a favor and just stayed home if they felt that strongly about it. IMHO, to call them traitors to our cause would be putting it mildly. You might want to ask them how that “hope and change” thing is going for them now.

What the hell is it with politicians in general? Why can’t they stay faithful?

Supposedly, it's the excitement of the "risk." Some people are drawn to the risk factor, which is probably most politicians. No doubt there are many liberal democrats and rinos doing the same thing right now. The media decides who they'll expose based on what/who affects their agenda, as we all know.

SANFORD? He’s like Sen Brownstripe. I thought he might be good, was waiting to see, didn’t really like what I was hearing from him, except the part about refusing the bailout, now this. I probably would not vote for him due to this. If I thought he was awesome I might anyway, but I haven’t seen the awesomeness.

Palin is about as self-made and self-spoken a politician as there is—of either gender. She actually made it a race for that carcass at the top of her ticket after having been a consistent winner in Alaska.

If there’s good to come out of this Sanford implosion, it might be that the Republican base can solidify behind a strong, charismatic candidate in Palin before the primaries, so we cannot be divided and conquered into another round of RINOism in 2012.

I’m a longtime Lexington County resident, and Lexington County is a very conservative place. Jakie is my state senator, and Nikki Haley is my state representative. I have no problems with the representation both of them have provided me. Jakie is no liberal. He was in law enforcement, but he wasn’t Lexington County sheriff. That’s Jimmy Metts, who has been in office for more than 30 years.

When this deal about Sanford being missing first hit the news and Jakie was front and center fanning the flames, I told my husband “I betcha Jakie’s getting him back for supporting the woman who ran against Jakie last year.” And, Moose4, you’re right, it’s also payback from the General Assembly for the way he’s fought them ever since he’s been in office. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him impeached if he doesn’t resign first.

There’s no excuse for Sanford’s behavior, and I’m just sick about this whole situation. I can’t even begin to understand what he was thinking. He had to know his political enemies, both in SC and nationally, had to be watching him like a hawk for any mistake, yet he has an affair with a woman in Argentina?!?!?!

WIS, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, just ran a bit about Jenny Sanford. She ran both of his campaigns for Governor, and I had forgotten all about that. Lord, what a sad situation for them and those precious boys.

It’s also about whether the pol in question decides to knuckle under and do the walk of shame. The rats will say, ooh, I’m so bad, I’m so wrong, but then they’re like “resign? who said anything about resigning.” I realize Spitzer did, but he was kind of egregious and he had made enemies of about everybody there was to make enemies of. I think everyone in the country felt a little safer when he got out of there.

Why can’t these guys think about something beyond the pea brain in their pants. Like the GOP isn’t having enough problems. What the hell was he thinking?

What an idiot. Had the world in the palm of his hand (should have kept it at that) and sold it for a few rolls in the hay.

My tagline grows firmer—never mind the Argentine beauties—Palin 2012, can’t come soon enough.

Have we seen a pic of guvs mistake, yet?

Not yet, but give it time. I'm sure the talking heads are actively searching for her.
