Every Republican is defective as far as the MSM is concerned. The good ones get flushed out for not so good reasons this way. A suggestion of a problem is not a good reason to dump an otherwise good candidate. I am saying this and I have never even heard of Sanford before.
Perhaps i am just more skeptical than you? As i said, i haven’t written him off, but this stunt didn’t do much to enhance his chances IMO. is it just those of us with children who find it particularly egregious that he was away from his kids on Father’s day? i see some deriding that as a silly concern, but it is the first thing that occurred to me when i heard he was gone. if his kids were adults it would matter less, but that isn’t the case here. these things DO matter to voters, and if one is to be pragmatic, one has to look at how things will be PERCEIVED regardless of one’s intentions. again, lack of political savvy on his part to not realize how it would be perceived, which is in itself a concern for a politician seeking higher ofc.
