Why The Big Bang On Health Care If Smaller, Targeted Plan Will Do?
IBD Editorials ^ | June 23, 2009 | LAWRENCE KUDLOW

Why do we need President Obama's big-bang health care reform at all? What's the real agenda here?

If it's really to cover the truly uninsured, a much cheaper, targeted, small-ball approach would do the trick. But on the other hand, maybe the real goal is a larger, ultra-liberal plan aimed at a government takeover of the U.S. health system.

In a recent column, Larry Elder points to an ABC News-USA Today-Kaiser Family Foundation survey showing that 89% of Americans are satisfied with their health care. That means up to 250 million people could be happy with their plans. So why is it that we need Obama's big-bang health care overhaul in the first place?

In a new Pew Research Center poll, only 41% of those surveyed believe the U.S. health care system needs to be completely rebuilt. In early 1993, when Mr. and Mrs. Clinton started on health care reform, 55% said the system needed a complete overhaul. So something has changed.

In a new CBS-New York Times poll, 38% say the economy is the most important problem facing the U.S., 19% say jobs and only 7% say health care. In an NBC-Wall Street Journal poll on the same question, 24% say the budget deficit is today's most worrisome problem while only 11% say health care.

Because liberals are full of bad ideas. It’s rather obvious the supposed ills of the health care system won’t get better under the Obama plan. But they don’t care and they don’t understand.

Listen to Obama today talking about taking the profit out of health care as if that’s a good thing. Do you think all the doctors, nurses, MRI’s, medicines,CAT scans, etc, came about by accident? The market created all this and it will collapse under the government.

So of course what Obama wants makes no damn sense. How can people sit around believing this will be good when the proponents themselves talk about reducing antibiotics, surgeries, and MRI’s?

They are TELLING you they plan to take your health care away!

In a recent column, Larry Elder points to an ABC News-USA Today-Kaiser Family Foundation survey showing that 89% of Americans are satisfied with their health care...interesting in that about 85% of Americans actually have health care coverage of one kind or another - the 4% difference must be those who could afford to buy their own insurance but choose not to........

Control of health care gives them control of population size.

They’ve got abortion on the front end, and government rejection of health care for the elderly on the back end.

This has NOTHING to do with people not covered by health insurance, but has everything to do with control of every part of your life - now the most personal and intimate parts of your life.

This new system will have the efficiency of the waiting lines at the DMV, the compassion of the IRS, and the fiscal responsibility of the Pentagon who gave us the $500 hammer and $1,000 toilet seat.

Any complaints regarding your care will have to be handled by your Representative's (or Senator's) chief of staff - after checking party affiliation, level of campaign donation, and a screening of your behaviors (practicing gay sex being the exception).

I’ve been thinking about this. Nationalized health care is like using atomic weapons because someone has mosquitoes around the house.

Control of health care gives them control of population size.

Great point. And these days that control might even include determining the sex of people's children - whether the parents want to or not.

Un-natural selection.
