The League of Conservation Voters (LCV), an environmental group that is an active player in political campaigns, said it would not endorse any member of the House who opposed the climate bill scheduled to be voted on this week.
In a statement issued on the climate bill Tuesday afternoon, the League called the American Clean Energy and Security Act the most important piece of environmental legislation to ever come before the House of Representatives.
The bill would create a cap-and-trade system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent over the next four decades. House Democratic leaders have scheduled a floor vote on the bill for Friday.
The stakes could not be higher; a safer, healthier planet and a new energy economy hang in the balance, and its imperative that members of Congress be on the right side of history, LCV President Gene Karpinski said in the letter to the House.
In 2006 and 2008, LCV endorsed 155 federal candidates, of whom 124 won election or reelection if Al Franken is included. Franken is leading a disputed race for a Minnesota Senate seat with incumbent Norm Coleman, a Republican.
Other environmental groups pressed Congress to support the bill as well. The Clean Water Action Fund, Environmental Defense Fund, National Audubon Society and Natural Resources Defense Council were among a group of 29 associations urging support for the measure.
We believe this is one of the most important votes of our time, the groups wrote.
Not everyone was in the bills corner, however. The American Petroleum Institute, which represents large oil producers, said it strongly opposed the bill. In a letter to members of Congress, the group said the bill would drive up energy costs, create a competitive disadvantage for American businesses and imperil thousands of jobs.
So if the bill is defeated, we win twice.
Good.
And I will not vote for any member of the House of Representatives who SUPPORTS this bill.
What a crapload of propaganda.
Do any of these people have daytime jobs?
League of morons is more like it. Screw these marxist parasites.
What an opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone. These whack-job environmentalist are anti-science liars who’ve been dead wrong for a half-century.
It is time the voting public knew this.
With Obama’s economy in the toilet, these homos want to make sure they keep the money taxpayer’s money coming in. If any of them find themselves out of a enviro “job”, they’ll starve to death.

I am so glad they are going to advise me who to vote for, I would not be able to make a decision without their guidance
Good ... now go pick up the Dixie Cup thrown on the street

Gee, shares leadership with Socialist International through Carrol Browner (zero’s pick for energy and climate czar): http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jan/12/obama-climate-czar-has-socialist-ties/
Gee, there’s a shock. /sarc
We should identify upper members of this organization and expose them. The vehicles they drive, the homes they live in and other organizations they belong to (Communist Party) need to be public knowledge.
Who are they going to endorse—Republicans? Empty threat, just like da gays.
League of safe state job holders is more like it.
If congress passes cap-and-trade, they are declaring economic war on the working people who pay their salaries.

Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., led a letter to Yellen Friday that cites a 2015 Washington Free Beacon report that suggested the California-based Sea Change Foundation may allegedly be a conduit for Russian oil interests in funneling money to groups like the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Sierra Club and the Center for American Progress....
