Re: Atlanta and patriotism... check this event out: Restoring America Conference - North Atlanta http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2277796/post

That is in Forsyth County. Gwinnett Mall is in Gwinnett County, which is heavily Democratic and overrun with illegals and the crime that they bring with them. The store they are talking about has been empty for years, ever since Macys bought out Rich's. Gwinnett Mall used to have both stores, they closed the Macys and renamed the Rich's to Macys. There also used to be a Parisian at that mall, it has been replaced by a Belks. It used to be a nice place to go but the changing demographics plus the building of the Mall of Georgia a few miles further north has really hurt their business. I'm surprised they didn't shut the entire place down a long time ago.

Parts of Gwinnett County, the northern and northwestern parts in particular, are still very nice. The closer they get to Atlanta, however, the worse it gets.

1. Simon Property Group does not own the property on which the Tea Party was to have been held.

2. George Thorndyke, the owner of the property in question, had agreed to allow the Atlanta Tea Party to use his property free of charge and had gone an extra step in sponsoring fireworks.

3. Although the event was to have occurred on private property not owned by Simon Property Group, the mall was able to assert authority on the matter due to reciprocal property easement agreements. The people upset about this story understand that. But they're not happy with the 11th hour interference.

This can’t be. Obama himself said today on the topic of Iran, that he supports the universal right to dissent. Heard him myself, so it must be true.

Well, the truth is, if you want to protest, you don’t ask the people you are protesting to use their property.

You hit the streets like the folks in Iran.

All of this planning is absurd.

"I will be avoiding these places for some time. I like Perimeter Mall better anyway."

Perimeter and North Point are my malls of choice, in that rare occasion I'm actually compelled to go to the mall - I leave virtually all maters shopping related to my wife.

" however the mall manager asked the property owner and I..."

Wow what a command of the English language! - (news anchor material)

STOP BEING WUSSES!! Remember, that while nice, it is not about vendors, childrens activities, or fireworks shows. It is about spending, taxes, and government control. Do what we do here in Sacramento, go straight to the State Capitol Building. Hold it from 10 am to 1 pm. That way people can still enjoy Holiday festivities with their families. STOP WHINING, TAKE ACTION!!

Instead of trying to organize these events on private property, why not on public property? Don’t we still have that right?

THE WINNER!! If you ask, is it really a protest? This isn’t about making nice, but about doing what has to be done.

M B S Associates Llc (Mel & Bren Simon) is headed by Bren Simon and consists of house staff, personal assistants to Mel and Bren. Here’s a short business profile of MBS:

http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_gnzfng

Notice the profile lists http://www.activoteamerica.com/Home2/home2.html as the company URL (web address). Check out all of the site - can you say ACORN.

The Simons host a lot of political fund raisers at their property. Bill Clinton has been a favorite past guest. Funny how all most all of their friends are lefties. Hope none of the other tea parties are near their properties, if so, look for more cancellations.

Inspired by the people in Iran risking their very lives to protest for liberty, I went in search today of where my husband and I could join in a Tea Party here in Atlanta on the 4th of July. I guess I felt that an appropriate way to celebrate Independence Day with real patriotism.

I don’t need hot dogs, children’s activities, fireworks and entertainment, I just want to lend my support to an effort that will show the administration that we will not be silent on this issue.

So.... here we stand Atlanta. A whole lot of conservatives and no where to go for a Tea Party? If we had the determination of those Iranians and felt the desperation they feel, we would not need a mall or any other place. The streets of Atlanta would suffice. If we showed up with numbers like they did, in a main street right downtown, blocked all traffic for several miles with masses of people, then the media would be forced to notice our voice. Do we have the numbers? Do we have the guts? Or are we more interested in hot dogs and firework displays?
