Good grief, though the ZOA doesn't take political positions, they shouldn't, anyone willing to comment who has half a brain knows Morton Klein is a Republican. It's never been a secret.
But he's also a Jew, and like me (don't want to speak for you so I left you out), there are "conservatives" who want nothing to do with his type. It's not about his political positions. It's a fact of life, and if "conservatives" ever want support from the Jewish community they have to get over it. More likely, the GOP has to reject that particular type of "conservative", difficult because the media uses them to hang the tag of bigot on Republicans.
I think Morton Klein made it quite evident that he doesn't approve of O's policies in the Middle East.
When you say that the ZOA doesn't take political positions, that may be their policy on paper, but the current circumstances are forcing Klein to bend the "rules," which IMHO is absolutely the proper thing for him to do.
BTW, there are more than enough left-leaning Jewish and Zionist organizations who are supposed to be "non-political" but in practice are anything but.
