ISLAMABAD A Taliban faction leader who criticized the militant group's Pakistani head over attacks that killed civilians was fatally shot Tuesday, reportedly by one of his own guards.
Dr. Mahmood Khan Bitani told The Associated Press that he pronounced Qari Zainuddin dead on arrival at a hospital in the northwest town of Dera Ismail Khan with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Baz Mohammad, an aide of the militant leader who also was wounded, said a guard barged into a room at Zainuddin's compound after morning prayers and opened fire. He accused Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud of being behind the attack.

Dead Muslims!!
Pelosi and her buddy, Fat Jack Murtha, aren’t going to be happy about this. Someone’s head is going to roll.
“Self Cleaning Oven”
I agree. One less cockroach to deal with.
Works for me.
Actually, if they had to take out some of each other, it could have been someone less civil than a man who would object to civilians being killed.

CIA?
Apparently, having a shred of humanity is considered unseemly and unbecoming a committed terrorist. He just needed killin’.
On that happy note, I think I’ll retire for the night.
granted they are all pretty far off the reservation but Qari Zainuddin was trying to topple crazy Meshud. Meshud was carrying a 5M bounty on his long haired noggin.
i suspect dead guy had subtle US help....
here's some pics
Meshud..alive for now
Qari...very dead
Goodnight
” Taliban faction leader who criticized the militant group’s Pakistani head over attacks that killed civilians was fatally shot Tuesday”
Oh, darn. He was one of those “moderate” Taliban the Dear Leader was contacting to help bring a negotiated peace to the region. How sad. /SARC
That pic of Mehsud. Sure, he’s a mohammedan scumbag, but he’d make a helluva pirate at Blackbeard Fest!
Kinda like drug dealers fighting over their turf.
It may have been that the civilians were Taliban fanatics. Who knows?
Actually, it should be *obviously*.
Too bad that the ones with a spark of humanity are the ones to go. To me that indicates that there’s hope for them.
Looks like they’re turning on themselves. .............................Nahhhh. Just an average day amongst the tribes.
That’s true. He could have been objecting to killing civilians who are proving ground support, as it were.
But in that case, if they knew that, you’d think they would have agreed.
