In our current two party system, Republicans may be our only hope. It is quite unfortunate their most vocal experts are far too stupid for the job of being saviors.
Those vocal GOP moderates continually tell us how they can win, but not why they should. When given a chance to prove themselves and their message of liberal-lite policies, we get the read deal, a far left liberal President and matching congress.
Do the republicans choose to lose on purpose? If actions mean something, it appears to be. They are like soldiers in a fire fight with perfectly good weapons who then either shoot themselves or convince each other to join with the enemy.
The republican party still has more claim to conservatism than the demonrats and has models for success in Reagan and Gingrich. If they continue to ignore the core values of a majority of voters and demonstrated strategies for winning elections and for governing after wards, the party deserves to die.
Americans deserve better and we know it. Good riddance, GOP. It's long past time to find a new brand.

The party had better heed his words or the country will never recover!

Ronald Reagan won two elections in a landslide by being Ronald Reagan and, most important of all explaining to a broad electorate how what he advocated would be best for them and for the country. Newt Gingrich likewise led a Republican takeover of the House of Representatives by explaining how the Republican agenda would benefit a wide range of people. Neither of them won by pretending to be Democrats. It was precisely the Republican "moderates" Bob Dole and John McCain who lost disastrously to Democrats who were initially little known individuals but who knew how to talk.
Man! I wish I could put it as succinctly as Dr. Sowell.
Give us another Republican candidate as weak as Juan and Bob and the country is guaranteed to go one of two ways.
Either a circle jerk that we will be a half a century recovering from or a revolution that we will be half a century recovering from.

Yes, I’ve never seen it put simpler than that and he nailed it.
We need a Repub Conservative to step up to the plate now to start pointing out everything Zer0 does that’s anti-American then say what they’ll do that supports America and that’ll be a full time job.

If you lose when the other guy has all the high cards, there is not much you can do about it. But, when you have the high cards and still keep taking a beating, then you need to re-think how you are playing the game. BINGO
