The $10K per-person host list of Gov. Charlie Crist's NRSC fundraiser tonight illuminates just how much the Republican establishment believes the Florida Senate primary next year is a lock.
This who's who of GOP lobbyists wouldn't lend their names to such an event if they didn't think Crist would be the nominee.
The only upside for Marco Rubio, Crist's Republican opponent and the former state House Speaker: If he was having any trouble formulating a message about party big-shots in Washington trying to determine what is best for Florida Republicans, that task just got easier.

If someone runs against him worth a damn, you bet he has.
Well, I’ve said it before.
The only way I will ever vote for Crist is if he paid me $500,000 or more.
crist.... just too much time to keep his tan up to date....
Rubio is superior in every way.
I cannot stand Crist like McCain and Miss Lindsay Graham-nesty. Rubio claims to be a conservative but I have seen nothing from him about stopping illegal immigration and stopping amnesty. Florida is getting killed like CA with illegal alien costs. Rubio let bills on stopping illegal immigration die in the Florida state govt according to other posts.
What a lousy choice. I wish Bill McCollum was running.
Crist is a known horrible RINO and Rubio appears to be a pro-open borders RINO pretending to be a conservative.
Rubio appears to be another open-borders RINO-lite compared to open borders RINO-extreme Charlene Crist.
$10,000??? I could have bought 10 brand new cars from GM.
Then it's time to unseat the GOP establishment. Put these old horses out to pasture and bring in some new studs!
I can tell them right now that I've held my nose and voted for a RINO for absolutely the last time. Period. If 20 or 30 million of us disenchanted conservatives had stayed home in Nov. then the progressively failing Obama tenure would be much a sign of how fed up we are with Democratic Lite as an answer to a disappearing America!
Why? Was his name on the Bathroom wall
Not quite.
What GOP!!! The RINO herd maybe.
Re the Republican party big-shots in Washington, I’m reminded of a line from Gettysburg.
“Those lamebrains couldn’t pour piss from a boot with the instructions written on the heel.”
It's appropriate, since his candidate is well acquainted with being on his knees.
Not quite what? I loathe Crist. Rubio appears marginally better but he is still pro-illegal like Crist as far as I can tell. Supposedly he let Bill on reducing illegal immigration die in the FL state house when he was president of house or senate.
No thanks!!!
Define "thing", please :D
‘Supposedly’ is a tough way to make blanket statements.
I have been getting spam from Rubio’s campaign but his web site needs to say he is against Amnesty and against illegal immigration. If not then he is Mel Martinez-Lite.
If he does not address it like a conservative, he will lose upstate to Crist. Bank on it. We already have a pro-amnesty Cuban-American RINO in there now who pushed HARD for amnesty and we smacked him down with amnesty Bush & McCain.
